LOWLANDS FESTIVAL - DRONTEN, Holland

While most of the 35.000 visitors were still asleep in their tents, I was already up to see Andrew Dorff. Andrew opened the 2nd day of the three day festival, playing in the small Charlie tent.

I did not know his music at that point, but I had won a copy of his cd the day before and I was very curious to hear what it would sound like. The band was already on the stage soundchecking when Andrew walked onstage beginning with Supercool. I was a bit blown away by the performance. The band seemed to give everything they got, even though the tent was only half full. About all of the Hint Of Mess album was played and most people who witnessed the show were very impressed. Afterwards this performance was called one of the highlights of the festival by most rock-critics who were there.

Later in the afternoon there was a signing session at the record store on the festival grounds. Andrew, accompanied by two overactive record company people, arrived somewhat too late and found only three people waiting. He was very polite, signing cd's and talking about his other concerts in Holland. Then he was off again, walking around the festival grounds, taking pictures of literally everything..... strange guy.....
