Career Girls formed in Adelaide in June 1998. Todd, Jeremy and Andrew had previously played in The Undecided while Sasha joined a few months later. After a year of gigging around Adelaide Career Girls entered Big Sound Studios and recorded their debut CDEP

Hooray For Everything, producing it themselves.

Hooray for Everything was released in October 1999 and received great reviews, strong sales, and airplay both in Adelaide (a favourite on three-d radio), nationally (Triple R, PBS, Triple J, on the Oz Music Show and also daytime radio play) and internationally (Germany’s POPSCENE, for which the band were recently invited to record a jingle).

Recently Career Girls were invited (along with Catatonia) to contribute tracks to the soundtrack of the new Jeremy Sims film.

In May 2000 the band won Most Outstanding Songwriters at the South Australian Music Industry Awards (the SAMIAs). Currently they are in pre-production for their second CDEP, preparing for a Triple J session and negotiating their first shows interstate.
