2006 KANG KNITTING CONFERENCE We are busy planning the Knit at Night Guild Conference to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Please SAVE the DATE on August 25,26 & 27 of 2006. We are excited to announce that Jackie Erickson Schweitzer of HeartStringsFiberArts.com , Candace Eisner Strick of Strickwear.com , and Carol Anderson of Cottage Creations have signed on as instructors. TKGA Judge Carol Singletary of New Mexico will teach and judge knitwear; and several of our talented guild members will be teaching their specialties. Plans for a banquet and fashion show , skills workshop, and market are coming together. Below is the registration brochure, which includes class descriptions and the registration form. You will need to open the form with Adobe Acrobat Reader (if you need this, download from http://www.adobe.com). The registration form is interactive so you can fill it out and print from the Acrobat Reader. Please use this feature as it will be much easier for our registrar to read, and will avoid mistakes from messy handwriting. Registration forms received before June 15th will receive a nice goodie bag at registration. Please sign up for classes as soon as possible to be sure of getting the ones you want. Two classes have filled, and quite a few others are already at 50% full. As an added bonus, early registration has been so successful that we are now planning a free party on Friday night for all the registrants and instructors. JURIED KNITTING EXHIBITION A juried knitting exhibition will be held on Saturday, August 26. There are nine categories for entry, and awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as “Best in Show”. Guild members and non- members are welcome to submit items for judging. There will be a $5 fee for each item submitted; and entries must be in by 10:00am on
Saturday. Entries will be tagged, bagged, and handled with white gloves to protect the item. Entries will also be inspected, as they are received, with any damage noted at that time. Judging will be done by Carol Singletary, who is a TKGA certified judge of knitwear. IMPORTANT DATES
