Paul, glad to hear Firebird is going to have a familiar and southwestern
sound. You were a MAJOR part of creating a style that brought all of these
people together and continues on to this day.

Greetings from New Zealand:

Wonderful for the memories, and sense of Poco/Paul Cotton community,
thanks to this home page.

Slim Pickings Poco/Paul-wise in this part of the world. My only source
(other than old vinyl) is via Amazon.....just received some old Poco.
Did a search on Paul and his album....but no results. May try again in
the weeks to come having read about new projects etc.

Thank you Rich for all your efforts.....passion and commitment are truly
wonderful things.

Greetings from Germany
... and thank you Rich for remembering me from the cantamos-list days.
It's been nice to see so many familiar names here in the guestbook. As
for the homepage - good job really! You see, these days you go into a
record shop, looking for new releases, shaking your head in tears when
you see what the new releases are and then ending up buying a CD of a
record you have had on vinyl for twenty years ... sounds familiar, eh?
So I'm really glad to hear that there will be a new release from Paul
... and who knows, maybe there will even be another Poco one day ...
Thanks to Paul for the music, to Rich for the homepage and for letting
me know. Greetings to everyone and take care!
ALIBI

PS: I've seen responses from Paul himself, so I can't resist asking: I
have the Legend songbook where the chords to "Heart of the night" are
notated in D. Well, maybe my ears are playin' tricks on me but if I try
to play along the recorded version, then I'll always end up in C#. I've

Hello Everyone! To those of you who have responded to the Website on the
Guestbook or via the Bulletin Board, I thank you and hopefully I can
answer a few questions at this time. Regarding the When The Coast Is
Clear project, I intend to release a "real" studio version following
the Firebird CD, which hopefully will be released in late Fall of this
year. The Coast version that some of you have is only a demo/bootleg
that some anxious fans have sent around over the last few years. It is
not the definitive version of the project. I hope you are looking
forward to the Real Thing, as I am! I chose to do the Firebird project
first because I feel it would reach the greatest number of fans at this
time because of a certain familiarity of lyrics and sound. Regarding
guitars that I use: I no longer have the White Falcons, but I still use
my Les Pauls and the beautiful Stratocaster I received as a gift from
Rusty back in 1992. Thanks again for your interest. I'll keep
in touch. Happy Trails

Paul,
Congrats on your own homepage. Can't wait to hear ""Firebird" . I
listen to my copy of "Coast" every time I feel I need to get back to
the water - Its like watching "Adventures In Paradise" all over again.
Hope all is weel with you, Linda -&- family. Will keep in touch now that
I found this site.

Rusty once wrote that Poco was greater than the sum of its parts... but
each one of these guys had so much individual talent. Of all the great
moments at a Poco concert, I'll never forget hearing Paul do Indian
Summer on his Gretsch White Falcon followed a few minutes later with
Magnolia (with a full string section..Rusty called them the Pocoettes)
at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Paul's mark on Poco is
unmistakable. If anyone out there can get me a copy of the Coast is
Clear I'd be much obliged. Paul: how about more CD's and more live
shows? There is a lot of US out here who love your music.

Paul, thanks for years and years of great music!! You are a great
songwriter, guitarist and performer. And I am really looking forward to
Firebird. Rich, I already mentioned to you that you created a great
sight!!! I love it here.

Well, this is the first time I've seen my dad's Web Site and I have to
give Rich a BIG Thanks for putting this all together...so Roo, Thank
you! I'm sure this web site along with my fathers' dedicated fans
motivate my dad every day which inspires him to create and continue the
great songs we've enjoyed. Every other day I hear the new songs he's
preparing, and believe me (not just because I'm his son) FIREBIRD is
already a great album. Thank You and hold your HORSES!

Rich,
I am really glad to see this site ! I have very fond memories of the music of Poco and Paul Cotton. I was all set to see Poco for the first time this past August, but the show was cancelled. In the 70's I lived in a small beach town in NC ( Wilmington) and we didn't get too many big concerts. Never got to see Poco. But I am very excited to find out that a new Paul Cotton cd will be coming out ! Please keep those e-mail updates coming and let us know when the cd is coming out.
Paul,
I loved Changing Horses and I am ready and waiting to buy your new cd ! Thanks for making the kind of music you make and I am looking forward to Firebird very much. Will it contain any of the songs from The Coast is Clear ? I am also very happy to hear that this album will have a Southwestern feel and feature Rusty on some tracks.
Thank you very much for the songs.......

Rich- Thanks again for an incredible tribute to Paul/Poco, who have
given me countless hours of pure musical pleasure throughout the last 30
years (WOW! Where did the time go?) I have been a serious music
collector for over 35 years and, in my humble opinion, Poco is one of
the few bands/artists whose music rises to the level of high art (along
with The Beatles and a few others). Although Rusty is truly "The Best in
the West", Paul's lead playing is always tasteful and magical(as on
"Indian Summer").And some of the BEST concerts I ever saw were Poco
shows. I collect audio and video of Poco appearances. Anyone want to
trade? I'm looking for copies of Rusty's column that he wrote for Guitar
Player magazine in the '70's. Any help would be appreciated (photocopies
are fine!)

Thanx for forwarding the info Rich..you are real buddy...classic sounds
like Poco created are a rare find in this day and age...thankx paul for
the great additions you made and still make to the world of music..we

Great job Rich, thanks a million. I am the Mike mentioned by my fellow Florida Poco Fans, Wayne Graves and Jim O'Hara. Thanks to Paul for the song my wife Donna and I claim as "Our Song" "Heart of The Night" Every time you have played it live for us, at such shows "Savior Faire" three times at "Church Street Station" and at the Blue Crab Festival we dance to it each and every time. Thanks for the music and the autographs you and Rusty gave my son when he was 12 in Orlando, that is something he will never forget and he is eternally the new breed of Poco Fan.
Thanks to my golf Buddy Wayne for the Poco Tape we played our entire honeymoon 5 years ago.

Rich -

congratulations on this magnificent web site honouring Paul cotton's
achievments.I'm always amazed and moved by how much loyalty there is to
Poco's music - I became a fan slightly before Paul joined at the time
of the live album, Deliverin' but as soon as I heard Bad Weather I knew
the missing piece in the band had fitted into place. He's a great
musician and this terrific page does him full justice. Keep up the
great work.

Well what in the wide world of country rock is happening here? It looks
like I'd better get a CD out real soon, eh? Thanks Rich for my very own
Website and to all of the wonderful fans who are responding to it! I
have some great music coming forth and I hope that you will all be as
delighted to hear it as I am putting it together. It will be called
FIREBIRD. It will consist of at least ten very southwestern and
romantic songs. Please stay tuned with much more to come. Rusty says
that he will sing and play on some of it, too.

Happy Trails to All Of You,
Paul Cotton

Now that I think about it, the first Poco song I ever heard was Blue
Water from Crazy Eyes. At the time I found it hard to belive that Paul
wasn't there from the beginning. Along with Rusty, he is Poco. I
think that without Paul, all the Poco web sites, lists and boards
(including this one, obviously) wouldn't exist.

The time is right for more music from Paul Cotton!

favorite LP is Blue and Gray. Love to hear some more.

Heard you play with POCO in Bloomington, Indiana In Septermbe 1971.
Richie Havens and Chase were on the bill plus a couple of local bands.
It started to cloud up and rain while you guys were on and Richie said
It looks like "Bad Weather" But you played and we stayed. Thanks for
the memories. Mike Davis

Rich,

congratulations on the Paul Cotton homepage - you have done a terrific job. I thank you for this and your helpfulness on all matters Poco.
I had heard Poco before but the song that really"clicked" with me was Heart Of The Night - a Paul Cotton song. I have every album of Poco's but its the Paul Cotton, and later in their career, Rusty Young's, songs that stand out. From Bad Weather through to the Coast Is Clear songs Paul has shown a soulful voice that seems to get better with age, excellent songwriting and strong guitar playing - and like his voice his guitar playing keeps getting better. I look forward to hearing more Paul Cotton songs - thanks Paul for some great music - you are an original!

Congratulations Rich. A very informative and in-depth site. It's good
news that Paul is recording again. Let's hope the trend continues. I'm
a big Poco fan even though I was introduced to the band quite late in
their career(Rose of Cimmaron). Paul really gave the band that much
needed edge in 1970. Long may he continue.

Rich, I wanted to say that you have a wonderful website to honor Paul
and it just continues to get better. I have loved his singing and
songwriting style ever since I heard "Ride The Country" off of my first
Poco album A Good Feeling To Know. He has written numerous great songs
that continue to inspire me. I finally got the chance to meet him for
the first time after the Poco concert in Maumelle (Little Rock),
Arkansas on July 3 of this year. (Paul, if you read this, I was
wearing the Poco t-shirt with the Legend horse!) It was a pleasure to
meet and chat with him. Very warm and congenial and more than happily
signed some CD covers I had with me. The Poco spirit continues to live
with him and I really gained an even greater appreciation of this fine
person. He is a genuine individual and I'm glad to see that he is
getting some of the recognition he so rightfully deserves with this
website.

He played just great at the show. I think his guitar playing is better
than ever

Been a Poco fan since the early 70's . Paul was a great addition to
Poco . It's hard to believe they never really got the success that
their great music deserved . I always liked Paul's harder edged songs .
One of my favorites was Railroad Days off of From the Inside . Great
guitar work. Lets face it the music of today is crap compared to what
these guys did during their Poco years .

Congratulations, Rich, for the Paul Cotton homepage.

Throughout the time I've "known" Rich, he's been a very generous and
good person within the great little Poco-on-line community that has
developed over the last several years. I also know he spent a lot of
time researching and digging up information about one of his all-time
musical hero's, Paul Cotton. It's great to see him get the opportunity
to share his appreciation and knowledge with the world though this brand
new site.

I bought the Good Feelin' to Know album when it came out in the
seventies. Years later, I heard Rose of Cimmaron on the radio and
bought the album. It so delighted me that I put it on cassette so I
wouldn't wear the record out. When Indian Summer came out I realized
that this band was nothing short of incredible. Marvelous. Extreme
talent and wonderful music. I kept up with Legend, Under the Gun, and
all others after that. Couldn't believe that Young and Cotton were so
freakin good that their work kept getting better. In between, I
purchased every recording that Poco ever put out. I remember being
delighted that Timothy B. Shmit guest appeared on Innamorata. When the
Legacy album (without Paul) came out, I loved it, but remember thinking,
through it all, my favorite - the backbone, I think was Paul Cotton. He
contributed more wonderful music to Poco than the other "originals".
Paul Cotton is MR. POCO in my book.

Arend Slagman The musical development of Steve Lukather 26/Aug/1999:17:00:07
Hello Cotton fans and friends,
Since a few months I got a pretty heavy (qua texts) Steve Lukather site
(http://www.beatline.com/lukather) with an essay on his musical
development and a review section (Lab) on which I reviewed a.o.
Changing horses and Lukather's contributions to that (very good) album.
I give one quotation:
"There's something strange with Luke's appearance on this album. It's
not the first time that Luke is playing predominantly rhythm guitars
and melodic riffs, but on this album it's like he's playing in an
interactive way so to say. In almost every song he is playing on, it's
like he's preparing a guitar solo that he doesn't play, because there's
no solo at all (I walk the river), because Paul is doing the solo
(Tiger on the lawn and Here in paradise) or because Joe Sublett is
inventively soloing on tenor sax (Heart of the night). So every time
you hear the concerning songs, you can invent the solo that Luke could
have played."
Keep on doing the right things for

Been a Paul fan since the first ISP album. Raised in Midlothian Il. I
did get to see ISP perform twice. Was a big Poco fan and had heard
that Jim Messina was leaving the group and Paul Cotton was replacing
him on lead. We were flabbergasted. I don't need to say here what a
wonderful addition this was. I played lead in John Norris's band that
he mentioned in his entry in this guest book. Saw Paul with Poco a few
years back at a show in Merrilville Indiana. Edgar Winter, Steppenwolf,
Dave Mason, and Poco (Believe it or not). Paul sounded better than
ever. Have Changing Horses and patiently waiting for his next.

Paul,

As you may have read my bother Greg's message, we were heavily
influenced by ISP's first album. The one side with "Be A Woman" stands
as strong today as the day it was released, and is better than side 2
of The Beatles Abbey Road to me.

Looking forward to you new CD.

To Paul if you're out there,
I wanted to personally thank you for being part of my favorite album of
all-time (just edging out the Beatles), namely the first Illinois Speed
Press album. The set on side two is a masterpiece of raw genius and
energy that even today captures the true essence of hard rock in a way
that few others have approached before or since (and you did it in
classic Chicago-style, I might add--right from your souls!). I regret
never having heard you guys play these songs live, even though I lived
in the Chicago area in the late 60's and early 70's.

It apparently wasn't meant to be for that original ISP line-up to
continue, but for a fleeting moment the sparks were flying and you
really captured something. I've been recording music myself for over 25
years and am a prolific songwriter, so I'm not unfamiliar with the
challenges of trying to create a special moment in music. You've been
able to do it again and again, and I admire you for it.

Hi Everyone! I've followed Poco from the start and have never been
disappointed. I've seen them in concert six times. The most recent at
the Alton Belle Casino in Alton, IL. I have autographs from Rusty,

Paul can squeeze out the notes as good as anybody, one of my favorite
guitar players and POCO became one of my alltime favorite bands when he

Been a Poco-phile since 1976 - there have been a few musical watersheds
in my life - Buddy Holly....Everly Bros....Shadows....Beatles....The
Eagles.....and Poco. And I think Poco was the most mind-blowing of them
all. My real HUGE regret was that I missed them in my hometown
(Liverpool) in 1989 when they played here with Richard Marx.

Hello all,and thankyou Rich for informing me about Paul's page.I used
to live in the UK but have been living in Australia for a decade.Surely
one of the most unlucky bands in terms of success there has ever
been, mainly through limited airplay and T.V. exposure.Paul Cotton has a
fabulous voice and plays a superb guitar.I found his Changing Horses
album a hugely enjoyable affair, these boys will be back so much talent
on view.By the way what happened to Poco's Last Roundup Live
album, surely that should have seen the light of day. Please keep up this
page.
Mark Baker 22/Aug/1999:22:43:55
The first Poco album that I was introduced to was A Good Feeling to
Know just after it was released and I was shocked. Shocked due to the
fact that I had thought of myself as being abreast of all music because
I was a performing musician and I felt I had overlooked something
fantastic in not hearing their previous material. My favorite Paul
Cotton cut since has been Ride the Country from the Live 1975 album.
Does anyone know of it's possibility of being released on CD? I have
everthing else on CD that's available, including Changing Horses. I've
met Paul on several occasions through the years and miss the music
immensely. Poco has not played in Washington state for several years.
If anybody knows of any videos that are available, I'd like to have
access to them. I remember seeing them on Midnight Special when
Cantamos was released. They performed Sagebrush Serenade and it was way
too cool. Keep this thing going dammit.

Thanks Rich:

Shed 28 years with the stroke of a keyboard. Pre-Paul concert at Santa
Monica featuring original line up. At age 16 savoured my favourite band
live. Now, living in New Zealand, memories and fine times come alive
thanks to the wonderful information on this site....not to mention some
vinyl and cd sessions.

Kind of on my own down under....not alot of people know about Poco.
Those that do have a very special element in their lives.

Thanks

over 28 years (43yrs-15yrs). I first heard them when GFTK came
out and have been a fan ever since. I brought changing horses
when it first came out and it quickly became one of my
favorite cds. I am looking forword to new material from
paul and a solo tour would be great. Good luck Paul!

Periodically, I like to look back on my life and think about the
various days of significance. When I do, somehow my mind is able to
wrap itself around a particular song of that era. It comes as no
surprise that many of the fonder memories (and a few of the
heartbreaking ones) invoke the memory of a POCO song.

A year ago last winter, I had the phenominal experience of being bumped
off a flight which was returning me to the cold and dank of Boston from
a vacation in Orlando. Driving back into Orlando for one more night, I
turned on the radio and heard there was a free concert starring POCO
that night at Church St. Station (downtown Orlando). Could it get any
better than that?

Yes.

When I went to the concert, the only "members" of Poco were Paul and
Rusty Young. As it turns out, that was all they needed. Their
unmistakable voices were spot on, the music was wonderful and the
memories flowed like a vintage wine with songs like "Heart of the
Night." By the time they went in

Hello out there
Great site - especially for us here in the UK. Last time I had a POCO
experience was at the Hammersmith Odeon when Poco were on the same bill
as America.
HELP.HELP.HELP - one of my favorite Paul songs is Tulsa Turnaround. I'm
a keen acoustic guitarist but can't nail this song and picking. Any
help really appreciated.

I've have followed POCO since seeing them for the first time at San
Francisco's WINTERLAND auditorium with (and I might be wrong about this)
The DOOBIE BROTHERS and T-REX in the mid 70's. (I'm listening to the
album "GOOD FEELING TO KNOW" as I'm writing this and "EARLY DAYS" just
started to play)....Hold it!....I'll cut this short...I'm a guitar
player of 27 yrs., seen -&- done it all(almost), blah, blah. OK, anyway, I
don't remember hearing EARLY DAYS performed live by POCO, but the power
of the guitars and vocals must have blown the roof off the place. OK, so
the building didn't fall over. But, you know what I'm sayin'....I hope?
Thanks Paul, for years of music enjoyment! ps...I have listened to BAD
WEATHER hundreds of times and it still moves me! EK jr.

Great job on the site.I'm very disapointed that the buffalo gig was

Great to hear Paul is working on a new recording. Too big of a talent
to be sitting idle. One thing Paul, you have to record After All These
Years and Bordertown. Those are without a doubt the best you've done.
I've enjoyed your songs for many a years, ISP,Poco -&- solo. Wishing
you the absolute best of luck on your new project. Mike Westhoff

Paul,
Thanks for the years of wonderful music. I'll known the joy of
watching you and the other members of Poco perform for over twenty
years- even saw Poco perform at Oswego State University in New York in
1972, my college. The pleasure you've given me over the years has been
immense. Looking forward to your new material. Keep up the marvelous
work.

I've been a PocoNut for some time. I have to confess that I really
enjoyed Poco only after Paul joined the band. Some of the reasons are
the love songs, the great guitar work, the imagery in the songs, and the
multiple meanings that keep the songs alive "After all these years". I
like the rockier edge over the country but I have all the Poco CDs.
Paul, if you can find a way to release older Poco material on CD (Live,
Last Roundup, etc.) everyone on Cantamos would go out and buy it (from
Rich's web site would be nice). In fact I only recently heard, but now
have, Changing Horses on CD (it's hard to find but shows up on eBay
occasionally). It solidified my appreciation of how much you are a part
of Poco. It is reminiscent of Legend and Inamorata, and was refreshing
with some of the touches used (like female harmony). My wish is that
you would re-record "After all these years" with Poco - I can visualize
more harmonies and guitars and a near perfect song. The news about the

I have the greatest admiration for Paul Cotton's essential contribution
to Poco. His vocal and guitar work has in fact improved with
experience. His songwriting kept Poco on the map. I hope the next
Paul Cotton CD becomes a reality soon, and I hope we're only halfway
done with Poco's recording career!

Play Louisville soon!

Rich,
Glad to see the Guestbook that I turned you on to worked!g;-) I am
also glad to see the overwhelming support from the Poconut gallery,
especially Brandon Rose, whom I consider to be one of the best Poco fans
of all times. It is folks like him, you, Tobbe, Jeanine (lil sheba), -&-
all of the gang from the Poco list that helps to keep Poco an ongoing,
larger than live, LEGEND in their own times!

I hope that when Paul takes a peek at this guestbook, that he will
realize the fan base that he does have out there. And not just crazies
like myself. There are everything from book writers to industry insiders
whom are great fans of not just Poco, but of the individual works of all
of the members of Poco. Paul would not believe the extremes which some
fans have gone to, to track down Changing Horses on CD. Paul, keep up
the good work, -&- btw, when do we get some new music? I'm growin' old
over here!

Paul, you don't know me, but I certainly feel like I know you through
your music! Y

Rich,

Great site!!!!! Paul you are the reason I am a Poco fan. First Poco song I ever heard was "A Right Along" When I was in my teens and twenty's I even wanted to wear my hair like you. Thank's for all the great music now. And as Jimmy Buffett once said " Don't Stop the Carnival" Keep that that great music coming!! Stop in here in Florida this year and give Mike, Wayne, Steve and myself one of those great show's you and Rusty and the boys have been putting on for us the last few years.

Great job on the site! Anything that keeps Poco out there in the mind
of the masses is a good thing! Paul, Thanks for it all, and I really
mean that. I missed a chance to go deep sea fishing with you, Stuart,

since. Thanks for the autograph, and good luck with the new CD. I'll
buy the first 10 copies, Christmas is coming...... Mike Brisky

When Richie left Poco a lot of us at the time figured it would only be
a matter of time before Poco would come to an end. What we didn't know
was that Paul and Rusty had other ideas. What a terrific testimony it
is to Paul's music, and his tenacity along with Rusty's, that they have
kept the best damn music alive and well into the next millenium. For
me there are too many good Paul Cotton songs to try and choose one as
my favorite. Besides, that choice continually changes depending on
where I am in my life or my mood at that moment. What I'd like to do
is thank Paul for all of the terrific enjoyment he's provided me and
the rest of the world with over the years with his music. Paul, I have
listened to your music for a long time and hope too for a lot longer!

Thanks Rich for spending the time to put this site together for all us
Paul Cotton -&- Poco Fans to enjoy. This is really an impressive site.
Thanks Paul for all the enjoyment that I have received by being able to
enjoy your music throughout my lifetime. Now the big question...Paul,
if you were to have some new songs "burned' onto cd -&- make them
available to your fans through Rich's site, we WOULD buy them....Thanks
and I sure hope you -&- Rusty will make it to Florida this year. We
really enjoy those shows at Church Street Station.

Johnny Norris 17/Aug/1999:21:10:34
What a great page! Paul is one of my guitar heroes, as well as being a local hero (I grew up in Oak Forest, real close to Harvey and Hazel Crest where Paul hails from). Two of my friends and I had a country-rock garage band in the early 70s, and one of the first tunes we learned was "Bad Weather." We still get together every couple of years or so, and we still love to do that tune. We always did more Poco than anything else, but one non-Poco tune we did was "P.N.S. (When You Come Around)" from the first Illinois Speed Press album. At least it was a non-Poco tune at the time ‹ of course, several years later Paul resurrected it (and reinvented it) on Poco's 1976 Rose Of Cimarron album! Best wishes to Paul, here's hoping for a new Poco album to usher in the new millenium!

Rich;

Congrats on the very fine site you have developed. I can't say much
more than what the others in the guestbook have already written, other
than that I will be checking your site regularly for updates. Thanks
once again for introducing me to the Cantamos List, I am very grateful
for that. And if, as you say, Paul will be reading this guestbook I
would like to say "thank you" Paul, for your awesome contributions to
my all-time favorite band. I have yet to experience Poco live in
person, but I look forward to the day I do, and hope you and Rusty keep
the flame going for years to come.

Sincerely,
Steve Purcell

This page is a really great source of information. I've always been
curious about the ISP covers, and now I've seen them. Paul Cotton's
music has always been special to me. He has written some great songs
with great lines. My favorite is "Would You Trade Me Your Dream For
Mine" from "Faith In The Families". But my favorite PC moment has to
be his incredable gutiar solo in the song "Rose Of Cimeron". This thing
stops people in their tracks. But as good as his music has always been,
I most look forward to the stuff we all hope to hear from him, and
Poco, in future. Thanks for all the great music Paul!

Hi Rich,
I'm so glad to see all of your hard work pay off in such a handsome
fashion! The home page looks great and I'm impressed with the amount
of historical detail that it contains. After a bit of a setback, I'm
back on the trail for the Poco book. I'll be trying to set up more
interviews in the next couple of months. I have one question for Paul
to start searching his memory...when I interviewed Steve Chapman,
Charlie Harrison and Kim Bullard for the book they all remembered
encoring during their first shows together in 1979 with a song of
Paul's that was never released. Steve Chapman told me he thought it
had something to do with two trains. Any clues?

I'll be checking back as time goes by. Keep up the good work.

This page is looking great! Rich, your research is very thorough,
it's amazing how U were able to dig up all this info on Paul's
former band members! Nice blue background tile, too!
Glad to see Paul getting some recognition on the web. Absolutely the
best lead guitarist in the world. Poco's music has helped me throughout
most of my life, and I have a million favorite Poco songs, including;
Bad Weather, Ride the Country, Heart of the Night, etc. I hope Paul and
Rusty will be able to release some new songs soon. Anyone with the
talent that Poco has, deserves to be heard!
Paul, If U read this, I have Poco craft kits for U and Rusty and some
stickers, hope I'll get to see U guys someday again.

I saw this URL on the Cantamos list and thought I'd sign in. I have loved Paul Cotton's work since The Speed Press.
Bands I was in did a lot of his stuff and one early one had both Speed Press Albums. We learned "Bad Weather" before it got
on "From the Inside" if you can believe it. We also did the early "Electric" Version of PNS and some others. I always loved
singing Paul's stuff... "Bad Weather", "Railroad Days" "Keeper of the Fire" "PNS"(both versions) and a lot of others.

Paul's writing in POCO is so distinctive and gave that band a lot more dimension. He writes stories and situations not just love
songs.... And he is without a doubt on of my top five favorite electric guitar lead players. Every solo I can think of is a beautiful,
creative, melodic and interesting piece. His style, his tone, everything about the sound of his guitar is great. When I imagine
lead guitar on one of my own songs, It usually sounds a lot like Paul is playing.

This is the first entry in the guest book for the Paul Cotton Page. I
decided to try a guestbook rather than rely on the bulletin board at
Imusic. At the Imusic site, you need to go through a registration
process to have your name recognised -&- I have noticed that most
comments have been recorded as "anonymous". Hopefully, those of you
that have posted on Imusic will "re-post" here inthe guestbook. Your
comments on the past, present -&- future will be much appreciated. I
know that Paul has an interest in what "goes on" online -&- I promise
that all guestbook entries WILL BE SEEN BY PAUL. I'm not promising
replies to any questions, but I will do my best.
