1.How do I get pictures on my "write a Message" page?

     Since being on-line, you may have received e-mail with graphics (gifs) or banners on the page. Do you want to do that? I will cover the steps with you to help you put the same on your "write a message" page.  This is done with HTML in your sig (signature) box. You must learn the CCP (Cut,Copy,Paste) technique;in order to, put graphics on your page or you will type your fingers numb. :-)


2.What and where is the sig box?

     Your sig box is in "Mail". To get to it click on "Mail";then "Settings";then "Signature" and success! :-) There it is. The sig box
if where you put HTML codes to get graphics on your "write a message" page. The HTML codes are placed in the upper left-hand corner of the sig box. If the codes are not placed correctly they will not work.


3.What is CCP?

     CCP or "Cut,Copy,Paste is a very important technique used to get text from one page using cmd+a;then cmd+c and take it to another page and
placing it where you want it with cmd+v. Be sure to press the keys at the same time. You may have to erase part of the text
that you don't want using the delete key.

     To move a gif;find the gif you want; get it on the screen by clicking on it's name;Press "Go To" key;go to "show last",click on it;ccp it's address (http://etc.);then transload it.(Explained in #4)  Practice CCP on this page:~Testbed~ Use the back key to come back to this page.


4.What is Transloading?

    Transloading your gif allows you to use it on your "write a message" page or homepage. Take your gif address to: Transloader. Put the address of the gif in the first box;then click. You will see your gif on the next page. Fill in the boxes then press the Transload File Button:
TRANSLOADER

               URL:Gif address is here.
          FTP Host:ftp.angelfire.com
          FTP  Dir:leave blank for now
       Rename File:newname.gif(no spaces)
     FTP User Name:This is your name at FTP
      FTP Password:Your password at FTP
Transload File!     Reset

How the page looks…
On the next page near the bottom of the page you will get a message whether your gif was successfully transloaded or not and the gif address. Now, you can use the gif on your own page.           Example:
http://angelfire.com/TX/UserName/gifname.gif
TX/UserName will be the user name you choose at Server Site:Angelfire (Server Site will be
discussed in #5)


5.What is a server site?

     Server Sites are where you store your gifs,midis,and pages. Gifs must be stored at a server for your use. You store them to your server by transloading. Listed are three free server sites:
Angelfire            Tripod            Geocities
Click on a site and follow their instructions to sign-up. Remember your username and password. After your gif is transloaded to your server,it's ready for your sig box or homepage.
