The Wizard of Oz
The original casting was: Shirley Temple (Dorothy), W.C. Fields (the Wizard), Buddy Ebson (the Tin Man), and Gale Sondergaard (the Wicked Witch).
Haley replaced Ebson after an allergic reaction to the to the alluminum makeup. Ebson was in the hospital for several weeks.
Toto made $125 a week. The munchkins made $50 a week. (If they were willing to risk their lives playing the Winged Monkeys they would get an extra $20 per flight.)
