My dreams....

I dream of old age... It's true. I dream of somehow when I am nearing middle age to somehow be successful in something I love to do. The kind of older lady I dream of being is an independant and wise crone. I want a stone house.. perhaps a 'cottage', but roomy. With a large yard and beautiful garden and patio. With lots of fruit trees in the yard for my grandchildren to climb and eat food the way it was meant to be.... organic. I hope to play the piano by then and sing with my grandkids. I want to write novels. I imagine myself as an old woman locking herself away and writing the really great thought provoking novels readers can truelly enjoy. Creating characters based on my own life... making them unforgettable. In my novels will be all my explanations of my failures... the choices I had before me and the ones I took... So far regrettably. Maybe some young person will see themself in one of my books and it will give them some understanding of things. Hopefully I will be able to give them the possibility of prevailing over some of lifes unpleasant things.

This is one of my biggest dreams of all.

To swim with dolphins....

I'm partial to cards and posters and prints that have dolphins... I love dolphins. They are one of my animal totems. But I have always wanted to swim with them. I first got the idea from reading one of my favorite books 'American Made' by Shylah Boyd. Up until that point it never occured to me even though I was always partial the the posters of mermaids swimming with dolphins. Then of course I heard on the news that dolphins have a dark side..... that they will hurt you. But at the present time I am reading an article in 'Readers Digest' that sheds more light on that subject. You certainly need to know what 'not' to do when swimming with them. Never 'chase' them, like what we humans may think is a playful game, they may take as aggressive behavior. Never align yourself head on at them either..... They take that as a charge toward them. And I certainly would never attempt to swim with dolphins without an 'expert'!

And the majestic she-wolf.....

whom I relate to...
another animal totem of mine....
I would like to know much more about her....
