The Sanfords

My Great-great Grandmother was Abigail Sanford. The Sanford line goes back farthest of all our family lines, to Richard Sanford, born 1533. The chart below traces my heritage back to Richard Sanford:

SANFORD HISTORY

Richard Sanford, first of the family of whom there is definite knowledge, resided in the parish of Stanstead Mountfilchet in Essex, England, five miles north-east of Great Hadham, and just over the line separating the counties of Hertford and Essex. Born 1533. Buried November 16, 1591, he was an aged man. He married Elizabeth Coggeshall, who was buried 15 September, 1600.
