Attached is some of the OKLAHOMA memorabilia I said I would send you.
First is a colorized black & white photo of the ship circa late 1930's
in San Francisco Bay. My uncle who was killed on OKLAHOMA, sent this to
my Dad. Second are the two lists of men who were advanced in rating
while at sea around Hawaii in 1941. Last is an envelope from a letter my
uncle, Lewis F. Tindall, F1c, Division "M", sent to my Dad. It shows the
USS OKLAHOMA postmark and is dated Nov. 29, 1941, just 8 days before the
attack on Pearl Harbor. I've often wondered what my uncle had to say in
that letter.
Please let me know if these attachments come through ok. If not I will
try to re-send them. Also if you would like to use any or all of these
on your site, you have my permission. If you don't, that's fine too.
Either way I hope these will be helpful in some way.
Yours,
Rod Lersch
