Southern Most Point

Azure water 50 feet below,

Thunderous waves crash volcanic rock,

Blue against black with white spray.

A salty, warm breeze carries the emptiness,

Over 2400 miles to the Mother shore,

Standing on the big one,

Wondering how cold it is back home.

Fate is smiling down at the traveler,

Exploring a tropical paradise,

With fascination and wonder.

No farther south can be gone,

Standing at the edge of ocean,

Southern most point of Liberty,

Artificial wings will carry home too soon.
