Wow. The life of the Super NES sure went out with a bang when Chrono Trigger was made for it. Square's last Super NES game is a masterpiece. It uses all of the necessary tools to make an RPG and brings them to a whole new level of entertainment.

Lets first review the graphics. They are absolutely gorgeous. The CT world is very well thought out and is amazing. The character models are great as well, and so are the lush backgrounds in which they interact with. Square really pushed the system to the limit; I didn't know that a 16 bit system could handle such graphics. There is nothing else to say about the graphics except they are the best ever for the system.

I am satisfied with the audio department as well. The songs really set up the moment and the emotion that the game presents. The music is suitable for everything, from the character themes, to the city themes. The sound is perfect. Very nice sound fx for battles particularly. When Crono slashes with his sword, you really get into the game.

The gameplay is fantastic. Every RPGer wants this type of gameplay when playing an RPG. You can do so much in this game. You can choose which path you want to take in the story (which determines one of many endings) and can even travel through time! The goods are right here. You can't help but enjoy this stuff.

Another great thing in this game is the control. You can freely move Crono every which way, and you are in complete control of your destiny. However, I wish the battles were a little more interactive, like Super Mario RPG, but it doesn't become a problem.

With approximately 16 different endings, this game has perfect lasting appeal. The story is great so you'll definitely want to play through this game more than once.

Overall, I think that this is one of the best games ever made, and I had a lot of fun with this title. I thought that it had great emotion in the story and perfect characters for this type of game. Buy it if you can.
