CLARK, F Gordon [UNTD DONNACONA '52] (1932 - 2016) Age: 84
Passed peacefully on
October 19th, 2016 at the age of 84 in Victoria BC.
After
graduating from Sir George Williams College in Montreal, Gordon
joined the Royal Canadian Navy serving in HMCS Bonaventure, Swansea
and Nipigon with shore postings in Halifax, Ottawa, London England,
Toronto, Esquimalt and the Defense Research Establishment of the
Pacific serving his Country with honour for 45 years.
The
Supply Officer on HMCS Nipigon on October 18th, 1965 when an
explosion and fire onboard occurred at sea resulting in the loss of
3 crewmen he was one of the many brave Officers and Crew that cared
for their crewmates and a hero to his family for his actions that
night.
Predeceased by his wife of 58 years Joyce
(McConnell) Clark, RN. Sadly missed by his sons Robert (Teresa) of
Brussels, Bruce (Adrienne) of Victoria, and David (Lorrie) of
Cambridge, ON. Grandchildren Andrew, Christopher, Greggory, Sharon
and Rowan, and great grandchildren; Jordyn, Caleb and
Noah.
Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Ethel (Brown)
and sister Barbara Billings. Survived by his brother Ainslie (Cath)
of Ottawa.
Internment to take place Saturday, December 3rd
at 11:00AM at God's Acre Veterans Cemetery in Esquimalt.
