John toured to Germany with Rugby Canada's 1998 World Youth Championship squad and the Canadian Under 18 squad that met against France, August 1998. He has four Canada Youth caps for fifteens, and was selected for the Canada senior squad to tour to Italy, where he played against Italy "A" on 8th November 2000. John is a member of the Pacific Pride program, Canada's Rugby Academy.

He has scored 3 tries in the 2000-2001 IRB series to date, including two against Kenya in the Dubai Sevens, for a total of 15 points. Played in NZ Sevens.
