GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING

This program is designed to highlight the hazards associated with poor housekeeping in the workplace. The first part of the program (classroom) concentrates on legal requirements, identifying hazards and eliminating them, preventing accidents and injuries, and maintaining the program. The following is a list of topics covered:

* Keeping floors, walkways and working aisles dry and free of clutter and debris
* Pedestrian aisles
* Ladders and Stairs
* High traffic areas
* Safety devices and protective equipment
* Material handling equipment hazards
* Energized equipment hazards
* Racks and Shelves
* Doorways, loading and storage areas
* Production areas
* Legal requirements

The second part of the program is an onsite inspection with the group to highlight any unsafe areas, or areas that can be improved. Here we use the checklist (provided) and identify all areas of concern. Many solutions to common problems can be put in place without costing any money. Identification and recognition of hazards is the key.

We then wrap up the program in the classroom with a discussion of our findings, and solutions. This is a very informative program that runs anywhere between 2 and 5 hours depending on the size of your company.
