******WWF HAPPY WITH RAKISHI**************

As many of you know, the WWF is very happy with Rikishi, and word backstage in the WWF offices, is that he himself was happy with his performance. The crowd on Smackdown was great, and he worked them well, especially at the high points of the match. The WWF is almost positive within the short future that Rikishi will have a belt around his waist. Although the world title most likely won't be that belt, an IC or European Reign is almost definite. They also feel that if he can carry the European belt, he can bring back feuds and heat with it.

**********IMPORTANT ECW NEWS***********

Word in ECW is that they are thinking of running a Monday Night show for two hours, BUT while either Raw or Nitro is unopposed. For example, everyone knows that stupid dog show that's on every year, well, ECW remembers that too. If they run against Nitro on that date, and can come close to, or even beat Nitro, they will think about having another show. Most likely not Monday Night, but it is a good test.

*********Professional Wrestler Dies in the Ring**********

Pro wrestler Gary Albright died in the ring at an indpendent show in Pennsylvania on Friday night.

Albright, a regular competitor in All Japan Pro Wrestling, was working a show for Afa The Wild Somoan when he collapsed in the ring.

Albright was nailed with an Ace Crusher and immediately collapsed to the mat. Wrestlers and ring crew tried to resuscitate him with CPR before medical personnel took over the preceedings.

Albright died shortly after being removed from the ring by hospital gurney. The rest of the show was cancelled.

North American fans would best rememebr Albright from his days in Stu Hart's Calgary Stampede promotion, He also worked a few shots for ECW a few years ago.

******ECW FRIDAY NIGHT RESULTS FOR 1/07/00*********

ECW's Guilty As Charged weekend kicked off with a TNN taping at the historic Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, GA, which has not been home to a wrestling event in over two years. Here is a rundown of the events that occurred, BEFORE you see footage of it on TNN next week! Read on at your own risk! The show opened with a pair of local radio personalities coming to the ring, insulting ECW and it's fans and proclaiming this the house that WCW built. One man called out Bill Alfonso to the ring, since he claimed Fonzie had broken his arm during a previous visit to Atlanta. The Manager of Champions came out alone, and immediately took the man down. The other tried to get involved, but Sabu hit the ring, knocking out both men, and putting them through a table to kick off the show in Extreme style. Danny Doring & Roadkill, with Electra, came out for the first match of the show, taking on Nova and Kid Cash. Nova and Cash took an early advantage, double teaming and outmaneuvering their opponents. Roadkill caught Cash in mid air on a springboard attempt, and soon Doring and Roadkill were brutalizing Cash, with Doring hitting a DDT into a stunner, and Roadkill climbing the ropes for a legdrop. Doring had less luck coming off the top, missing an elbowdrop and allowing Nova to tag in. Nova hit the sledge-o-matic on Doring, and a swinging DDT on Roadkill. A brawl broke out, and Nova hit the Kryptonite Krunch on Doring, taking him out. Roadkill went back to the top, but Cash met him with a rana, and Nova followed with a senton bomb for the pin. The Dupp Brothers stormed the ring and brutally attacked everyone, but Chris Chetti ran them off with superkicks. Puck Dupp went back in to challenge Chetti, but Jazz snuck in behind him and laid him out with a chair shot.

The "New" Dangerous Alliance, Beautiful Billy Whiles and The Enforcer C.W. Anderson, accompanied by Lou E. Dangerously, came to the ring, and Lou took the microphone to the dismay of the crowd. Lou, again rewriting history (actually stealing Paul E.'s) said this is where he began his career, and formed the Dangerous Alliance. Tonight, C.W. Anderson takes on Mikey Whipwreck, who was brought back to ECW several months ago by Lou E., before they had a falling out. Mikey dominated the early going, taking the battle to the floor and hitting a Russian legsweep into the rail. C.W. battled back, hitting an armbreaker in the ring, and then distracting referee Mike Kehner, allowing Whiles to get a shot in. C.W. held the advantage, even blocking a Tornado DDT attempt by Mikey. It soon became obvious that Mikey was outnumbered. Lou distracted the referee again, and Whiles came in to use the phone on Mikey. Whipwreck instead kicked both men, then hit a double Whippersnapper on Anderson and Whiles! Beautiful Billy rolled to the floor, while Mikey covered Anderson for the win.

Yoshihiro Tajiri came to the ring, alone, for his match with the "New F'N Show" Jerry Lynn. Tajiri attacked before the bell, but Lynn managed to avoid the green mist. Tajiri instead went to wrestling, but Lynn took him to the floor, and hit a pescado. Soon, they were trading brutal shots on the floor. Tajiri locked on a sleeper, then sent Lynn back into the ring. They traded more punches and chops, until Tajiri unloaded with a stiff kick. Tajiri got the Tarantula on briefly, then hit the handspring elbow, and tied him to the tree of woe. After dropkicking him in the face, Tajiri stood on Lynn's groin. Soon they traded counters and reversals, with Lynn getting a two count with a powerbomb. Tajiri floated over a vertical suplex attempt, hitting German suplex for a two of his own. Lynn hit the Tornado DDT, but again could not get the three count. Tajiri hit three wicked kicks, then delivered one right to the head for another two count. Tajiri went for the brainbuster, but Lynn floated over and went for a German suplex. Tajiri attempted a low back kick, but Lynn jumped up, struck Tajiri with a low blow of his own, then delivered the cradle piledriver for the hard fought win.

Joey Styles and Joel Gertner hit the to tape the opening for the TNN show. Joel's opening line was interrupted by Cyrus, who cut the mic. Cyrus said he was there to greet the fans on behalf of TNN, then proceeded to talk to them in an attempted southern drawl. Cyrus took Gertner to task for his colorful introduction, and continued to berate the Quintessential Studmuffin. Cyrus said there was a double secret meeting of TNN executives, and there was a list of items that Gertner was no longer allowed to use. No more dirty middle names, no sexual innuendo, no references to female genitalia, his own genitalia, no ribbing of the Mexican wrestlers. He must also be silent during the lucha bouts, and no more jokes about country music, Dukes of Hazard, Dallas or RollerJam. There were also to be no jokes about the new jewel of TNN "Rock N' Bowl" (combo of rock n' roll and bowling). Cyrus then left them to proceed with the opening. Joey Styles' only comment? "That sucks." He and Gertner then left the ring.

Our next match featured Little Guido, with Big Sal E. Grazaino, taking on Super Crazy. Guido took Crazy down at the start and slapped him, firing up Crazy. Sal tried to trip Crazy early, but it was enough of a distraction to give Guido a brief advantage. The early going saw Crazy wrestle fast, while Guido looked to take it to the mat. Sal got involved again, and Crazy took both members of the FBI down on the floor with an Asai moonsault. Back in the ring, Guido hit a top rope rocker dropper, but only got a two count. He threw Crazy to the floor, where Sal whipped him into the rail and splashed him. Guido now had complete control, until Crazy hit a second rope sunset flip for a two, then hit a baseball slide dropkick on Sal. Crazy pounded Guido in the corner, but was caught on a headscissor attempt and slammed down face first. Guido got a chair, but ended up getting DDT'd on it. Sal tried to interfere, but ended up hitting Guido. Crazy attempted a powerbomb, had it blocked, then bounced off the ropes and caught Guido with a DDT for the win.

A man who is no stranger to this town, Jack Victory, led the way for Steve Corino. Corino took the mic and said that the last time they were in Atlanta, he had destroyed Dusty Rhodes, who has not been seen in ECW since. Corino continued to berate the "American Dream" and brought out who he considered to be a real legend, Wildfire Tommy Rich. Corino said that Dusty Rhodes held Rich down for years, then said if Dusty were here, he'd take him out again. With that, the American Dream emerged from behind the curtain. Dusty slowly entered the ring to a rousing ovation, and then proceeded to uncork bionic elbows on all three men. Rich & Victory retreated, and Rhodes slammed Corino. While he was setting up to droop the big one, Rhino hit the ring and hit a vicious clothesline. It was gang up time on Dusty, until the other Dream, Tommy Dreamer came out with a chair to even things up. Suddenly, from the back, Eric Watts, in street clothes, came out and hit Dreamer with a reverse uranage slam. Corino, Victory, Rich, Rhino and Watts then stood over the fallen Rhodes and Dreamer, who was busted open from the face first slam. Francine and ECW officials came out to help them out, and a disoriented Dusty almost hit Francine. Slowly, they made their way to the back.

Lance Storm, with the lovely Dawn Marie, were out next. The opponent, Spike Dudley, who came out to the cheers of the crowd. Spike actually tried to tie up Lance early, but soon the man from Calgary, Alberta, Canada was laying in the shots. Spike retaliated, sending Storm over the top rope to the floor with a clothesline. Lance challenged Spike to a test of strength, and the Giant Killer was taken down, before launching some headbutts to the mid section, followed by a roll through, finger stomp, then a rana from the corner. Spike went for an Acid Drop, which was blocked, and was then flung by Storm into the corner, with Spike hitting the post, shoulder first. Spike's girl came down the aisle, distracting Storm, who lost control of a press slam, which Spike turned into a two count with a sunset flip. Spike hit a cross body and then a clothesline for a pair of two counts. Storm hit a perfect standing dropkick, then a rolling single leg crab. Spike battled back, and when Lance flipped over the top rope on a whip to the corner, Spike knocked him off to the floor. Spike then hit a plancha, and jumped off the rail with a chair to Storm's back. Spike went to the top rope with the chair, then leaped to the floor, nailing Storm again. It got back in the ring, and neither man could maintain control, until Spike hit a rana, and Dawn Marie ran in and broke up the count. Spike responded by kissing Dawn, and as he turned, Storm hit a superkick. At the two count, Spike reversed the pin into a crucifix and got the three count for the win. Mike Awesome and Judge Jeff Jones ran out, and as Spike's girl ran to the back, Spike was ambushed, ending with a devastating Awesome Bomb, sending Spike crashing through a table at ringside.

Simon Diamond, with his entourage of Mitch and Dick Hertz, came to the ring. Simon said he was very happy that Santa had "returned his Dick to Simon." His opponent tonight, Raven. Mitch handled the introductions, heaping praise on his man. When he went to introduce Raven, Simon chastised him, since Simon didn't say he could do that. A huge Raven chant rung out as the match began. Dick tripped Raven right at the onset, allowing Simon to take an early advantage with stomps and a back suplex. Simon rolled through two vertical suplexes, then hit a sit down gourdbuster for a two count. Simon stayed in control, stomping Raven in the corner and choking him with his boot. Simon wrapped his hands around Raven's throat, and had to be pulled off by referee John Finnegan. Simon went to pound Raven in the corner, put the fans would not count along, even with Mitch leading them. Raven then exploded, hitting a clothesline and a kneelift. Raven then blew his nose in a towel and rubbed it in Simon's face. Dick came in with a chair, but Raven gave him a drop toehold into it. Simon used the opportunity to wrap up a small package for a two count. Diamond then tried a backslide, but again only got two. Even a DDT couldn't keep him down. Finally, with Simon going for a whip, Raven turned it into a shortarm, pulled Simon in, and hit the Evenflow DDT for the win.

Da Baldies, Angel, Grimes and DeVito hit the ring. DeVito sported a heavily bandaged hand, the result of having it broken during the wild brawl with Balls Mahoney & New Jack in White Plains, NY. As soon as Da Baldies were in the ring, "Natural Born Killaz" blared, and New Jack hit the ring with the can of weapons. Grimes and Angel went right at the Original Gangsta, then Angel joined DeVito at ringside. Grimes grabbed a pizza cutter to start this one-on-one match. Grimes muscled Jack to the floor, where Angel and DeVito swarmed on him. Back in the ring, Grimes was finally able to use the pizza cutter, slicing open Jack's forehead. Jack fought back, stabbing Grimes with a fork, then using a cheese grater. Jack then stapled Grimes in the forehead! After a shot with a cookie sheet, it was back to the fork, then choking Grimes with the rope he was tied to. Grimes face was soon covered in blood, and Jack used a hammer on him. Jack took it to the aisle, but Da Baldies joined in to sway the advantage. Jack, needing to get away from DeVito and Angel, took Grimes into the crowd. After brawling in the stands, they came close to the rail, and DeVito grabbed him. After some triple teaming, Jack was put back in the ring, where Grimes slammed him and dropped a leg. A chair was set up, and Grimes sat Jack in it, then climbed the ropes. However, he missed the somersault senton, and crashed into the chair. Jack placed a piece of sheet metal on his crotch, then broke a wooden crutch on it. Again, the battle went outside, and Angel used his staple gun on New Jack. A table was set up at ringside, and Jack was placed on it. Grimes went to the top rope, but Jack moved as he attempted the senton, and Grimes went through the table to the concrete. Back to the ring, where New Jack hit a guitar shot from the top rope to defeat Grimes. As Da Baldies left, New Jack and Angel exchanged stares, then New Jack got on the mic and promised to get Angel, before showing us why he isn't on TV much, as he unleashed a series of profanities on Da Baldies.

For the first of the two main events this evening, we have Justin Credible, with Jason, taking on Sabu, with Bill Alfonso. Justin, despite calling Sabu out on the microphone, stalled at the beginning of the bout by walking around the ring. When he finally got in, he was mauled by Sabu, who scored several early two counts. Justin hit a superkick on a springboard attempt by Sabu, and finally went on the offense. He took it outside, ramming Sabu headfirst into the rail before returning to the mat. Justin went for That's Incredible, but Sabu turned it into a chinbuster. A table was bridged between the rail and apron, but Justin took back over before it could be used, and slapped on Sabu's own camel clutch. Justin put Sabu on the table, but Sabu crotched him on the top rope, then went to the top for the hurricanrana. Sabu then put on a camel clutch, and followed by legdropping him headfirst into a chair. Jason tried to interfere, and ended up being put on the table. Sabu went to put him through it, but Justin stopped him with the cane. Sabu came back with a stunner for a two count. The table ended up being bridged in the corner, and Justin stole a page from Sabu and legdropped him headfirst into it. Justin then hit the tombstone, but took too long to cover, and Sabu kicked out at two. Another table was brought in, and Justin was laid out on it. Sabu scaled the ropes, and leaped off, hitting the legdrop and getting the three count.

Time for our second main event, and final match of the evening, as Rhino, with Steve Corino & Jack Victory, takes on Mr. PPV, Rob Van Dam, with Bill Alfonso. Rhino bullied Van Dam at the start, using his size to his advantage. Van Dam attempted to wrestle Rhino, but the rookie kept powering out of holds. Van Dam resorted to his superior speed and agility, taking the big man down with a rana. Rhino went back to brawling, until Van Dam backdropped him over the top rope, where Rhino landed on the ring apron. Van Dam then leaped to the top, and as he jumped off, brought Rhino's head into the apron. Van Dam sent him over the rail, then launched himself off the railing into a cross bodyblock in the seats. Rhino ended up being draped over the rail, and Van Dam came off the apron with a corkscrew guillotine legdrop. Van Dam managed to avoid a Rhino charge in the ring with a backflip, but Rhino scored with his second attempt at a gore. It was not enough to put away RVD, so Rhino dropped him with a press slam, then kicked him from the ring, where Victory and Corino got their licks in. They rolled Van Dam back in, but Rhino still couldn't get the win. A vertical suplex produced another two count. Rhino clamped on a chinlock, but when Van Dam escaped, Rhino planted him with a belly -to-belly suplex. A chair got involved, and Van Dam managed to muscle Rhino into a Northern Lights suplex on the folded chair for a two count. Van Dam hit a leg lariat, then a top rope thrust kick. Van Dam followed with a handspring into a backflip splash for a two count. Van Dam gave Rhino a reverse atomic drop, propped him in a corner, then dropkicked the chair into his face. Placing a chair on the prone rookie, Van Dam hit the somersault senton backsplash. Incredibly, Rhino recovered, reversed an Irish whip attempt, and kicked Van Dam in the gut. He followed with a powerbomb, but RVD kicked out. Van Dam caught another Rhino kick, and delivered a spin kick. Rhino fought back and lifted Van Dam, but he slid off and it the Van Daminator. Corino and Victory tried to interfere, but Fonzie counteracted it, and Van Dam went to the top for the five star frog splash, and the win.

********RENA MERO NEWS(SABLE)*********** *

Rena Mero, according to the Syracuse Herald American this morning, is honorary coach for the Syracuse Smash's pro lacrosse team's home opener. Marc Mero went to high school in the area and the two have promoted various events in Syracuse all year. For example, they signed autographs for the local Boy's Club at the State Fair. She is scheduled to give the team a pep talk before the game even though she admits she knows very little about lacrosse. The owner wanted her to play for a few minutes, but Mero vetoed the idea, fearing someone would purposely lay her out.
