"...beauty for ashes" is exactly what we've seen in the sacrifices and love that has been poured out by all the recovery workers, family members, survivors, and others since the September 11th attacks. Even the stories we've heard about the courageous acts of those who died have demonstrated a spirit we have not seen in this country for a long time. But the day-to-day trials of those who were left behind or working to recover the bodies or those striving to help those workers has taken a toll. Daily they deal with the horrific stench of death, smoke, and ashes knowing they won't find anyone alive in "the hole" anymore. They can now only hope to find a body intact that they can return to a waiting family to be laid to rest. And this is leaving them with a sense of depression and aloneness that is undescribeable, and a sense of hopelessness that is overwhelming. Now it's our turn to help them. The Salvation Army has notified us that there's an urgent need for letters of support and encouragement with a commitment of daily prayer for each of the workers. That's what YOU can do for them. That's what the Lord expects US to do for them as believers. The Angel Pin And Prayer Ministry is all about giving support through prayer to the recovery workers, their families, and all who have and are suffering as a direct result of the September 11th attacks.
