Andaraí, city situated approximately 500 km from Salvador – Bahia, state of the Brazilian northeast -, near the mountains chain called Chapada Diamantina, has approximately 20.000 persons living there. One of the main problems of the city is the job lack that until some years ago was constituted, for the greater part, from the search of the diamonds, but a governmental provision of it, forbade the extraction without offering alternatives to maintenance the population. The lack of job is one between the main causes of social disparity.. Currently, the plan "step to step" is one of the little local truths to take care of neglected children and adolescents. "Step to Step" is a plan of integral education of the Pastoral do Menor: it is taken care to grow the persons in intellectual and physicist. Apply the "Charter of the children and adolescents" that recognizes fundamental the human rights like: life, health, education, enterteinment, culture, job, sport, respect, dignity, freedom of communitarian familiar cohabitation. The plan "Step to Step" works with children and adolescents who are in situations of risk and serious familiar difficulty. Show them the possibility to accompanying the children and the adolescents in the way of life and that it is worth the pain spending time and money for their education. One of the purposes of the plan is not to leave the single boys on the road, exposed to many dangers, violences and diseases, but to offer one valid alternative to them.
