So you REALLY think you're the top fisherman do you...? Every year people profess to be the top fisherman but 2003 is the year you can actually prove it.

The objectives of the competition to decide who truly is the best fisherman are quite simple - catch as many different species of fish that you can. The one who catches the most wins. Simple huh...?

Why a species race....? Well, just how good is the fisherman who can catch big bass but can't catch wrasse. And how good is the fisherman who can catch Tope but not Mackerel. And why catch double figure carp each time you go fishing... is it because you can't catch Perch...? A species race encourages and promotes a more diverse approach to fishing and is the only real way to find out who truly is "The Ultimate Fisherman."

This is a Tope. It is what is known as a proper fish and is nothing like a carp, a roach or a tench. You reckon you could catch one eh...? You'll need more than a size 18's hook, maggots and bread feed for one of these. And your floating, vanilla protein flavoured boilies might well be great for carp - they'll be useless here - it's fresh fish only for these guys. Seriously though this is just one of many species available to us and counts just as much as a perch, a salmon or a bass. It is the ability to catch a variety of fish, both big and small, in a wide range of different waters that will win you this competition. Do you have what it takes...?
