- Le Chameau is Canada's only Franco-American treasure. These gold coins were among the thousands recovered from Le Chameau, which shipwrecked near Fortress Louisbourg with the loss of 316 people. Other notable artifacts recovered were silverware, some jewelry, and the cross of the Order of St. Louis.
