Ike and Buck are just finishing their meals when Lou bursts in the door, her clothes and skin caked with a long ride’s dust. She sits right down at the table, not even taking off her hat, and grabs for the grub.
What are you doing?
LOU
Eating.
Rachel grabs the plate out of Lou’s hand.
Not ‘till you’ve washed up, thank you.
LOU
Ike and Buck don’t mind.
Ike signs a response.
He says we ain’t been asked.
Then Ike waves his hand in front of his nose and grimaces. Enough “said” Lou heads out to the shower. Cut to:
EXT. SHOWER - DAY
Kid steps into the lone shower and peels off his filthy longjohns, tossing them over the stall door. WE SEE his bare feet and shoulders from outside the stall, and we see his bare back as, inside the stall, he reaches up to the over head barrel tank to release the water...
Suddenly Lou bursts into the stall from behind him, anxious to get cleaned up. The Kid, naked in all his glory, frantically tries to cover himself as he backs away. Lou’s not embarrassed at all.
Would you kindly get out of here?
She gets...but it takes just a little too long. Long enough to let Kid know she’s interested in what she’s seeing.
