Lyn: Completed stories are Fire, Kiowa Justice, No Heart Unbroken, Lives Intertwined, Eagles, Shillelaghs and Little People, and Trouble at Fort Laramie. Kindred Spirits is in progress at the Buck Cross site.

Who am I? If only I knew. My name is Lyn and I'm from Council Bluffs, IA. For those of you out of the states, that is along the Missouri River and directly across the river from Omaha, NE, and about a three hour drive from St. Joseph, MO. We are along the Lewis and Clark Trail and the Mormon Trail.

I love the history of this area. My parents instilled in me a love of the great ole outdoors and Native American history (nope, I'm not Native American, only wish I was. I greatly respect the heritage.). I've even been to several Indian pow wows. I practically grew up at a Boy Scout camp (yes Boy Scouts…my father was a leader and I got to spend some weekends there as well as before and after season. I was all the boy's little sister!) where you could trace the history by just walking the trails. Wagon ruts from the Mormon Trail, Indian burial mounds, and a cave that Jesse James supposedly used to hide his take from a train robbery.

In my other life I'm involved in our local Renaissance Faire, as a member of the Steering Committee. I'm chair of the Speaker's Bureau and Volunteer Check In, and will be getting involved in a new program called Educational Outreach which will involve visiting schools and talking about that period in history. Would you then believe that my favorite type of music is English, Irish and Scottish folk music?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of South Dakota, but I'm not using it at all! I still believe in the whole college experience, though, and always recommend higher education. I work in the Floral Wholesale industry as a supply buyer, but I've done just about every job there at some point in time, from unloading trucks, buying fresh flowers, and scrubbing toilets!

I have a cat and two dogs, which are my inheritance from my parents. One is a Gordon Setter and the other is a black Cocker. I'm also buying a house, which most likely is not the best decision I've ever made!

My favorite book is The Woodsman by Don Wright. What can I say, it's historical!

I've kept notebooks of stories ever since I was a kid, based loosely on favorite shows or movies and there was a story from TYR that kept floating through my head since the series was on. With encouragement from Kirsten, and quickly followed by Anna, that story became two, 'Fire' and 'No Heart Unbroken'. It was so long and somewhat repetitive that I felt it needed to be split in two! So now I've become a monster and there's usually a story in progress all the time, which I split between the Saddlin Station and Anna's Buck Cross site. See what you created Kirsten!

Lyn would love to hear from you! E-mail! :)
