Krazy Kirsten

It's about time that I got a new picture up...a recent one perhaps??
A bunch of thanks to my good friend Matt for using his NEW awesome digital camera to take this shot.;) It was taken outside of Decker Theatre...aka the building that is rapidly becoming my first home!

(Check out our cool college drama club S.P.O.T.S page which shows some pictures of our latest projects...the projects of all five of us that is. No, that's no exaggeration! It's a small site and club, but it's really great! The page shows some of my major involvement with acting...and one of the reasons my writing has slowed...peeeese forgive me! But we have an awesome gang, and I love 'em all!)

The S.P.O.T.S Page

OK, so you know I have this page, you know I have a very interesting screen name, and of course you've probably figured out that I love The Young Riders. So, I guess this page is here to tell you what you don't know.:-)

For starters my name is Kirsten. I live in what is commonly referred to as the "rainy land," or in other words the most beautiful city in the world Portland, Oregon.
It's what we call the Wild West, and actually the Oregon Trail ran right through this area. (You can still see the old wagon tracks....it's fascinating!) The Lewis and Clark trails are here too, and it is so fun to walk them....then read their original journals describing the land. However, I am originally from hot, dusty Kansas. I was kinda the misfit of the family, because most of them are from the L.A./Orange County area. But instead of boring you with my whole life's story, we're going to move on to something else!

Like my car!!! Bruuuummmmmm...gotta love those famous West Coast eight lane highways with neverending construction. Ah well, (insert voice of Paul Hogan) with me and my Subaru Outback, we'll be getting places! This baby is a 5-speed with all-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes. What more could a girl possibly want? (A Corvette, Ferrari, or Camaro perhaps?)

As for my hobbies and interests, that list would probably be much to long and by then you would have fallen asleep anyway. I am a tap instructor for starters. I decided I was going to take tap when I saw my first Fred Astaire movie at five. From there it didn't stop either! Drama HAD to be next, but it wasn't until several years later that I was able to become involved with that. I was so blessed when it did happen though! We had a small group that did some traveling, which was great! I got to work with two wonderful directors. One Judy Yeckel, who now teaches at the Northwest Children's Theater in Portland. And Mark Loring, who does much of the stage/set design and creating for some major motion pictures (he worked on "Free Willy" as well as "Dante's Peak"), so thanks to him the movies came alive!

From there I began flute lessons, of which I enjoyed immensly. Sadly enough though, I haven't picked it up in quite a while. I also write in my spare time, and unfortunately I don't get to ride horses as much as I love to!

By now you're thinking "man, this girl must not do anything else but play!" Well, although these things are on the top of my list, I do have a real job too. I work part time at a dental office (say "ahhh"), but I haven't had the real pleasure of peeking in someone's mouth. See I work at the front desk dealing with paperwork. Now, aren't you relieved?? :-) While at the same time I am working for a degree in something....not sure what yet. Right now I'm interested in Criminal Justice, but then it changes daily......somedays I'm going to be an astronaut, and others, I want to work in a chocolate factory (like Lucile Ball did). I wish I had the strength to make acting more of a career, but I hear that it can be a dog-eat-dog world! (No offense to my wonderful Australian Shepherd, Marty!)

I adore music as well!! Of course there are so many different kinds that whenever someone asks me for a favorite my answer is usually "depends on my mood." :-) So let's just say between the 40s and 90s. Although I haven't heard a tremendous amount on the radio this decade that really impressed me as much as some earlier hits.

Okay, a subject about my earlier life that I didn't mention is my three year skating venture. Gosh it seems soooo long ago!!! I started skating when I was 9, and let me tell you, those were some of the best times of my life!

(You'll just have to trust that the little pip-squeak monkey doodle in this picture is me...cuz you certainly can't tell!)

After the regional competition, I finally took home one third place trophy...and some bad bruises from practicing! I haven't had the chance to get back into it, but I honestly don't think that I would. All it took was a couple of bad injuries, and I was out of the game for a few years. Of course those few years turned into several years, and here I am...still not skating. But it really worked out for the best. :)

Now, back to TYR! I guess that my only run-in with a star was when I met John DeLancie aka Wicks. Isn't that just dandy? Actually when I met him (at a big convention in Portland), I hadn't seen the episode "Good Night Sweet Charlotte", but he still scared the snot out of me (I knew him as Q from Star Trek). There's something about the way he looks at you, glares at you, and those forceful eyes are hiding something, you just know it! :) Oh well, at least I met someone that was associated with the Young Rider world. *sigh* Some get the glory....and well, some of us get the...uh, strange people?? At least I've got his picture with an autograph, but it's not exactly something I'm going to hang on my wall. I'm going to send the picture to Joanna, because I know that when I told her I had it, she was TERRIBLY jealous. She just loves the chracter Wicks! LOL!!! ;) NOT!

So, have I totally lost your attention yet?? I know they say that a person can only take so much bordom at one time, so maybe I better stop here and continue updating later! To all my fellow Young Rider fans....keep ridin' and when you do so, do it safely!

Please, take me back!
