From: Lehner Chris Date: Wed, 22 Sep 1999 13:25:00 -0400 Bones, I'm sorry to subject you to another of my e-mails, but it appears it may be necessary. My Hammer-oriented, visualization technique seemed to get everyone focused for Kleinman, and I take all the credit for motivating us to success on that Saturday. (Our Sunday play is someone else's responsibility) It appears, however, that some aberrations have developed in our team focus, and I have graciously taken it upon myself to guide the team back to a point of single-minded, dedicated unity of purpose. We must take the next few days to engage in some introspection, and try to get the Matt's penis/hairy trucker image out of our minds. While that left a blight on our memories like a grape juice stain on white linen, we must move past. You see, we have certain responsibilities this weekend. We know how to fulfill those responsibilities and are fully capable, but we just need to orient ourselves mentally so that we may self-actualize as a team. We play best when we are happy, united, supportive and focused. To achieve that state, we must spend the rest of this week with nothing but happy frisbee thoughts on our minds. We will visualize solid throws, a clean stack achieved through Chuck's mantra of Creative Standing, efficiently run offense, and tremendous effort and dedication on D. You will carry out your lives in the next few days with everything stemming from a frisbee basis. You won't see stoplights, but rather green disc, yellow disc, red disc. You won't walk to bed at night: you will sprint through the house and lay out onto your bed because that pillow is the disc and no one deserves it more than you and the team. You will eat off frisbees. If someone in your office asks for a stapler, you'll tell them to go long, and you will put up the stapler-Hammer. If they miss and it drills them in the forehead, you won't berate them, but rather calmly tell them "Good try, but we gotta pick up on D now." Practice Creative Standing as you brush your teeth. When you put plates away after washing them, open the cupboards and practice your high-release backhand: you will learn to put a little touch on it very quickly. When you see an opening in a lane adjacent to yours, gun it and slide in there, because its all about beating your person to the spot. This oughta get you started. If you need more pointers on how to live the frisbee life, just ask. I'll help. Talk to you all soon. Chris
