From: Lehner Chris Subject: RE: Bones Rides Date: Fri, 17 Sep 1999 12:53:00 -0400 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, good morning Bones. Yes, it's that time again. Actually, it's always that time for me, when I'm at work at least. You'll soon see there is little point to this e-mail, other than to help me pass my day here at "work." This Sunday represents a mighty test for us. We will be missing several people, but that will just give us the opportunity to try new ways in which to kick oppositional butt. Yes, we will de-claw the Paw. We will attacky the Tacky. "Stick" it to 'em. Get wacky on the Tacky. Throw lots of Hammers. (How'd that get in there?) You get the idea. Additionally, Chuck has foregone work, sleep, consumption, and defecation for four days straight working the kinks out of, and adding new twists to the Rotary Scoring Engine (aka the RoSE). Because of this, Chuck'll really be full of shit. (Get it? Eh? EH?) That aside, dismantling TP should give us an excellent opportunity to get into the groove of our O's and more specifically our endzone O. As well, let me take the second to re-tout Chuck's most repeated phrase: 'creative standing.' Actually, that's his second most repeated phrase. First is "Lehner, put the Hammer down. You don't want to do this. It's not worth it. Think of the consequences. Think of your family. Your kids. The prison time." Tangents aside, CS will be more important than ever as we evolve into an offense that requires the field to be neat and tidy, free of clutter and straggling D. I would like to say, I am always first to forget his advice. "Keep your D busy. Don't just stand there. Move around. Fake. Juke." "Yeah, Chuck, I got it. It's not that hard. Okay. Stop talking now." 14 seconds later I'm in the stack looking at my shoes, noting that my laces don't lay perfectly flat. It's right about the time that my poaching D gets the D that I remember Chuck's advice. So, we all need to pound it into each other's heads every point before the pull until it's second nature. That's enough from me, for now. I'm sure I'll have more later, and I'd count on Chuck having something too. Maybe. Also, if everyone could e-mail Linus and ask him to bring my tournament chair cover, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Chris
