From: Lehner Chris Date: Mon, 23 Aug 1999 16:47:00 -0400 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surprisingly, I have a few words to add. Firstly, I haven't heard diddly about this weekend, so thanks everyone for abandoning me like the poor shit-stained mutt that I am. What I hear third or fourth hand is that we need to consider raising our hammer-to-conventional throw and gak-to-conventional throw ratios. If we could get a short chart from Spread Sheet Shiv about our gak/hammer completion ratios compared to other throws, I think we all might be a bit surprised about the efficient beauty of our inverted friends: My advice, "Know the Hammer. Love the Hammer. Pretty Pretty Hammer." The Hammer (notice how I revere It by capitalizing It and all It's pronouns) will keep you warm at night when that special someone isn't there. This shows the loyalty of the Hammer: Hammer will never leave you unless you leave it. Hammer may not be able to cook and clean or give you that lovin', but Hammer will make you a star on the field. And it's all about glory and public adoration. Secondly, listen to Chuck about practice, but notice that he didn't forbid practicing Hammers. While he outwardly admonishes Them in tournaments and cringes when people throw them even when they complete 100% of them for the tournament, Chuck still realizes the beauty and power of the Aforementioned. Chuck himself is even overcome by Hammer's Siren-like beckoning from time to time. He too loves and worships Hammer. But enough That. I hope the tourney was a success in terms of doling out ass-whippings and in terms of personal growth (euphemism for receiving the ass-whipping). As Chuck said, there is value in receiving them, provided you can analyze why you received it, and how, and what you can do to be prohibitive of receiving them in the future: Game analysis, baby. So, party at the doghouse tomorrow. We will gather together in myrth and merriment, telling tales of 75 yard, into-the-wind, scoring Hammers that we threw when we were younger. And those lesser who couldn't handle the power. Know Thy Receivers. Hope to see you all, and I hope to be seen. cHris "The 'H' is for Hammer" leHner
