Meeko was gem that came into my life as a puppy. She is the type and elegance that defines a whippet.
;Like her father,Taxi, Meeko did very well as a puppy in Canada. On her first weekend out she won the breed from the classes, placed in the adult group and won several puppy groups and a Best Puppy in Show!
Her American Championship took a little longer as both owners wanted to show her. Meeko is co-owned by her breeder Owen J. Light. However, she finished in style going BOS over specials.
Her favorite thing is food! She is bought and paid for by just putting your hand in your pocket! But her second favorite thing is chasing the bunny. Meeko has proven herself to be quite the courser, winning Best inField from the open stake her first time out. She has since won BIF on both sides of the border.
She was campaigned by Linda Buchholz of Swiftsure Whippets in Canada in 1998 and ended the year as the number three whippet. During that time she won the National Specialty in Canada in addition to several other specialties.
At the end of 1999, she took time off from the show ring to have her first litter, sired by Ch. Chelsea’s Bulguari. Her puppies are very promising, look for them to be in the ring soon.
Meeko came back to the ring 7 weeks after having puppies to win the breed and Group 1 and the supported entry at the Del Sur shows.
