Breeding, info, extras etc
Once you have bred to our stallions or one of our broodmares, the mare in question is treated like china.She is moved to the foaling barn where it is quite and peaceful with lots of fresh air and sunlight and each large roomy stall has a little camera in each.When it gets close to foaling time, we monitor theses carefully so we know, at whatever time when your foal is arriving.
The mare gets to now go in the broodmares paddock, which is a paddock near the quiter horses paddock where about 4 mares go, max, and they can relax in there.
The mare and the foals progress is monitored and checked regulary and the vet is called if we suspect anything at all, theses mums and babies are usually elite horses and very valuable and loved so nothing is spared.
When the foal is born, it is imprited , handled and trained immediatly (of course nothin hard, just like using the halter etc) so by the time it gets home and is weaned, it is used to attention and walks with a halter and leadrope.
The foal stays at Cambridge until a week after it is weaned, just for precaution and then it is good to come home.
When your foal arrives to you, it's page will have:
* It's picture
*Details including colour, markings, gender, barn name (sometimes we will request that you keep the name we have given it if is by our higher ranked stallions) but we don't usually ask you to have CSHF in front or anythng, just maybe part of the stallions name or first letter etc) .
*We study genetic charts and our stallions gene history to get accuarte colour and markings.
* We will put it's discipline, judged on what we think it will do best at, looking at attitude, conformation, breeding etc, but it is not written in stone :)
* The foals personality so far.
* "Bred at Cambridge Sport Horse Farm" at the bottom
There you have it, all the terms and extras for your premium foal, so with that in mind go look at our horses!
