'OPERATION FALCONER' PLAQUE
General Information
The Australian Special Forces IRAQ plaque was commissioned as a special project in July 2003 and is now available for general sale. It commemorates the involvement of Australian Special Forces on Operation Falconer on operations in Iraq. Orders will be taken however from time to time this item may be in stock. We will advise if stock is available.
The Technical Details
Each plaque is hand made without the use of any powered machinery with up to three craftsmen being involved in the manufacturing process. It is carved from a single piece of timber known by its common species name of ‘walnut’. The plaque measures approximately 36 cms x 25 cms (larger than our standard plaque and rectangular in shape) with a weight of approximately 1.3 kilo's.
The plaque is able to be personalised if required with the addition of numerous banners denoting service etc. Any inscription can be applied as long as the inscription is proportional to the width and depth of the plaque. Please note however that the plaque may increase in size to accommodate personal inscriptions and accordingly the price will rise. Once the plaque has been completed it is then finished off with an application of a wood polish, and this is applied by hand.
