A four-year-old Romanian boy survived on his own for nearly a week in the mountains.
Ionut Capraru earned the nickname Little Tarzan by eating wild strawberries, drinking rainwater and sleeping in a den.
He got lost after he accompanied a shepherd and his flock almost ten miles from his home in Bratesti village, Bacau county.
Hundreds of police agents and villagers searched the mountains for six days to find him.
The boy's family were preparing for his funeral when a ranger found him and brought him back to his village.
The boy's godfather Ion Ghinea said: "We didn't believe the boy could be alive after so much time spent in the woods."
Doctors said it was a miracle the boy survived with only a small foot infection and a few scratches.
Doctor Constantin Niminet from the hospital in Onesti told Jurnalul newspaper: "He wasn't even dehydrated or starved. He's only got a small infection to one of his feet but nothing serious.."
Police have started an investigation to find out how the boy got lost.
