Chapter 119 (holy mother... this story is long)

Carter sat across the dining room table from Taylor, staring at him, her eyes narrowed. Damn, Tay, you look like a pimp. She thought to herself, almost saying it outloud.

Taylor was looking over his calculus when he glanced at Carter for a split second. She's staring at me again. Why is she staring at me. Fearing for life.

Don't look at me. Go back to your math. Carter narrowed her eyes even more and tapped her pencil rapidly on the table.

Zac, at one point, put down his notebook, slammed it shut, and let out a huge sigh. "Ok this just sucks." He grinned. "But unlike you guys, I don't have to worry about finishing up my finals in order to graduate..." He looked up at Carter. But apparenly you're too busy trying to make my brother burst into flames with your eyes. This could be fun to watch.

Melissa looked up from her book. She was sitting on the living room couch again, reading ahead, coming closer and closer to graduating with her older sister and Taylor. Her plans were to go to college, as far away as possible. Ok this can't be good. She thought to herself, noticing the look on her sister's face.

Carter swallowed hard, yet casually, and continued to tap her pencil. So maybe if I stare at him with enough threat in my eyes, he'll forget that he has the next prank. It's going to be something huge. No, Carter. Don't fear the loser. You can't fear the loser.

This is it. She's planning two pranks in a row. This is when I'm going to die. Taylor looked back down at his book, nonchalantly. Don't let her smell your fear.

Carter smiled at Taylor. You know, I've always wondered, if I stare long enough, maybe he'll just disappear.

She's picturing me naked. She's totally undressing me with her eyes! His eyes widened.

Ew. Why is he looking at me like that? She made a face as if she were smelling old baby diaper, and then got up from the table. "Zac, your brother is disgusting me. I'm gonna go get some food."

Zac laughed as Carter left the dining room and went to the kitchen to rummage through his cupboards. He looked at Taylor intensely and shook his head. Taylor looked back at him and grinned. Zac shook his head again. "I'm telling you, don't do it. You will feel her wrath for the rest of your life if you do it."

He smiled again.

"I'm telling you, it's going too far."

Taylor laughed quietly, trying not to let Carter know what was going to happen. "And moving my entire bedroom into Jade's driveway wasn't going too far? Letting Nique loose on me, and by the way I do mean loose... wasn't going too far?"

Zac rolled his eyes. "I'm staying out of it. I'll regret it later, but I'm staying out of it."

Taylor rolled his eyes back at Zac and looked back down at his book, pretending to study.

"In fact, I'm staying so far out of it, I'm leaving the room." You stupid loser who can't think of an original prank so you have to go and... you're such a butt.

That's right, you go into the kitchen with Carter. It just gives me more time to get ready.

Zac walked through the doorway to the kitchen to find Carter, sitting on the counter. She had a can of velveeta cheese spread in one hand, and a twix bar in the other. She dipped it into the cheese and held it out. "Wanna bite?"

"Of course." Zac walked over and bit the end off of the twix. Then he smiled at her.

"What?" She asked. "Your brother is planning something, isn't he?"

A look of guilt flashed across his face.

"Yep. Don't bother lying, you suck at it. Oh well, I don't want to know what he's planning anyway." She laughed and pulled Zac in front of her so he was standing against her legs. She leaned forward and whispered into his ear, "I have a question for ya."

Zac leaned back against her and smiled. "What?"

"Where do you think I should go to college, Penn State, University of Virginia, or TCC?" She asked, the last one being an abbreviation for Tulsa Community College.

He sighed and frowned to himself. He hated talking about colleges. He knew he'd have to let Carter go to Penn State or UVA if she really wanted to. The truth was, he wanted her to stay in Tulsa. It wasn't fair though, for him to hold her back. "It's up to you."

She tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around to face her. "No, I'm asking you... let's say I got three acceptance letters in the mail today and I needed to choose, and I was leaning towards TCC... Which way would you lean?"

He looked at her without moving for a couple of seconds before jumping up, grabbing her around the waist, and lifting her off the counter. He hugged her tight and spun her around. "You got into all three." He said, more as a statement than a question.

"I got into all three." She grinned as Zac put her down.

He put his arms around her waist and leaned down to hug her. "I'm proud of you... but... I don't want you staying here and waisting the chance to go out of state. I'm not worth all that."

She laughed. "Don't be crazy."

"I just mean... If you stay here just because of me, it will be a waste. You can't waste your time in Tulsa just so you can be with me."

"Zac... hun... every second of my life spent on you, is a second well spent. I'm going to TCC."

He smiled and kissed her lightly. "Thank you."

"No. Thank you for not pressuring me to pick a college. It was an easy decision all around but... just thank you."

"Not a problem."

Zac and Carter put their cheese and twix down and went back into the dining room. She had to finish her English paper before Diana got back. She sat down at the table, opened her notebook again, and then laid her arms on the table. She wasn't sure what to write and somehow she sensed that Taylor knew she had writers block. He was smiling at her. She glared back.

Taylor smiled at her again and Carter suddenly grew uneasy. Don't let him know you're nervous. You know he's planning something... but what... Don't worry about it. He's not as smart as you... he's distracted by shiny pennies.

Taylor winked at her and licked his lips, knowing it would freak her out. Just as he planned, Carter practically twitched. In a split second he could tell she was going to grab her pencil and throw it at him. Probably right between the eyes. But he knew she wouldn't be able to. She jerked her arms and jumped up when she realized what had been done. "OUCH!" She winced and then looked down at her arms. He didn't... he couldn't have... he didn't have the chance... But he did.

Her jaw dropped open and Zac stepped cautiously away from the table. He wanted nothing to do with it. Melissa's eyes widened and she walked over to the table.

"Taylor... you do realize you're going to die for this one, right?" Carter growled, staring down at her arms. They had been superglued to the dining room table.

Melissa leaned over and grabbed Carter's arms, she tried pulling them up but they were stuck.

"OW! Hello! Superglued here!" Carter winced again and looked at Zac. "Next time I tell you not to tell me... just pretend we're playing the 'yes means no' game. K?"

He nodded.

"This is so much better than when you superglued your lips together." Taylor laughed and continued doing his homework.

Zac laughed too, "And the time she glued her leg to the wall."

"And the time she got her hair stuck in the closet while she was live on the radio and she couldn't reach the doornob to get herself out." Melissa added.

Carter let out a wimper. "Guys... I'm all for reminiscing but... DAMMIT TAYLOR GET ME THE NAILPOLISH REMOVER!"

Taylor didn't look up from his book. "Get it yourself."

"Dillweed, does it look like I can get it yourself?"

Taylor shrugged.

"Ok then leave the room so we can unglue me without you laughing the entire time!" She glared at him.

"Not going. Sorry. Wouldn't miss this for the world."

Melissa grabbed Taylor by the shoulder and pulled him out of the chair. "Quick Taylor, go outside, IT'S RAINING MEN!"

Taylor's glance darted to the window and then he frowned.

Melissa shook her head. "You know, Tay, everytime you fall for that, you get creepier and creepier."

Three hours later, Diana came home, gave concent to covering her dining room table in nailpolish remover, and Carter was free. Taylor, however, was grounded for a month as he was the reason for the finish being completely removed from the dining room table.

Ok everybody, here's something cute that I thought you'd all like. If you ever watch Gilmore girls, it's the story of the mom, Loralei and daughter, Loralei/Rory. Here's a funny thing that happened on Thursday's show. I don't have it word for word, but here's the jist.

Loralei: You have to learn to say "I love you."

Rory: Why?

Loralei: Because let's say your dating Taylor Hanson...

Rory: Why would I be dating Taylor Hanson?

Loralei: I don't know. You went to one of his concerts, you went backstage. Your eyes met and you fell madly in love.

Rory: Ok can you pick a different analogy? This one is really wiggin me out. And why would you ever let me go to a Hanson concert in the first place? Ok that's it. Just thought you'd like that hehe.
