Chapter 132

Gabi ran another block before turning the corner and finally grabbing her sister's arm. "JUSTINE! STOP!"

Justine turned sharply and glared at Gabi. "What?! What could you possibly have to say to me? A logical explanation went out the freakin door about ten minutes into your FUNERAL!"

"Alright, fine. So It's going to be hard to get over. But can you at least accept my apology? I'm really really sorry."

Justine took a step back and sighed. "Just leave me alone for a while."

Gabi watched as she walked away, then, she went back to the party by herself hoping she was still welcome.

"Get out of my house before I kill you." Carter yelled and pointed at the door.

Tom jumped and then shook his head, straightening his Gumbi costume. "Actually, this is Zac's house and he thinks I'm funny. So, you don't really have the right to kick me out."

"No, but I do have the right to kick your ass." She grumbled before Zac grabbed her arm and pulled her back onto the couch. They had been playing a game they liked to call, "Truth", for about twenty minutes.

"Ok, so asking that question is never appropriate for a girl." Tom sighed and sat back down on the floor next to Beth. "I'll remember that."

Most of the guests had left, leaving Taylor, Zac, Isaac, Carter, Melissa, Tom, Beth, Jesse, and Nique. Nique had tried to get out of playing the game, but since she didn't want to go home, she had no other choice.

"Ok, so who's next?" Zac asked, trying to remember where they'd left off before the death threats had began.

"Me." Carter sighed and straightened her hair. She'd taken off her wig and tried desperately to flatten her shoulder length brown hair. She pulled a blanket around her legs. "Taylor..."

Taylor covered his eyes and held his breath.

Carter laughed. "Don't worry. I'll be nice, I promise. Ok..." She paused. "Alrighty, what's up with you and Meli? I mean, you guys hint at being back together and I see you holding hands and like, hugging all the time but..."

Taylor looked at Melissa and waited for her to smile before he finally spoke. "We decided that we're just friends. I love her and all, but it gets a little weird sometimes when we start thinking about... ok that's awholenother question there. My turn. Jesse, are you ever going to ask Meli out?"

Jesse looked down at the floor and then shot a glance at Carter before turning bright red and trying to avoid the question. "I think, uhm, we, well..."

"Gooood answer." Melissa laughed. "Jess called me up one night and decided that he was too old for me. And I'm not a big fan of sending guys to jail, so yeah."

"Is that another reason why you and Tay aren't getting together?" Isaac asked. Then, noticing glares from various people, he looked at Carter and Zac, apologized, and went back to sitting quietly on the floor.

Jesse cleared his throat. "Carter..." He paused when the front door opened slowly and Gabi poked her head in. She had taken off her Gumbi suit and was wearing a pair of plain blue jeans and a black t-shirt. Her hair was down and hanging over her shoulders.

"Hey, guys... I was wondering if I could hang out here with you for a while. I can't really go home right now."

Everybody stayed silent until Carter stood up and offered Gabi her spot on the couch. "You can sit here. I'd rather be on the floor anyway." She smiled and sat down on the floor with her back against the couch.

"Thanks."

Jesse waited a few minutes before finally asking his question. "Carter, when was the last time you were on an actual date?"

"Huh? What kind of question is that?"

"It's just a question. I mean, when you're in a relationship with your neighbor, you guys just don't seem to go out much."

"It's just... well." She looked over at Zac who raised and eyebrow and shrugged. "Uhm, a yearish ago when I went out with Todd?"

The room stayed silent for a moment until Carter sighed. "Ok, moving on. Nique, what's up?" She grinned.

Nique rolled her eyes. "Cute. But since you asked, not much. Now. Carter... Is Jesse a good kisser?"

Zac's head shot up and he looked from Carter to Tom and back to Carter again.

"Uhm..." Carter looked over at Zac. She instantly felt tears forming in her eyes.

"Cause from what I saw, it looked like you liked it." She grinned.

"You have to answer the question. It's how the game works. It's the only rule." Tom smiled.

Carter jumped up and grabbed Zac by his shirt, pulling him out of the room and into the kitchen.

"What the hell was that all about?" Zac asked. "She's on something, isn't she? Are you sure Todd didn't spike the Sprite." Zac laughed.

Carter shook her head and wiped a tear away from her eye. "Zac..."

"Ok, what's going on?"

"I was going to tell you tomorrow, AFTER your party. Because this isn't very happy birthday to you. But... Jesse kissed me."

Zac raised his eyebrows. "When?"

"When I was taking out the garbage. I tripped, fell, he caught me, and next thing I knew, he kissed me."

"Oh." He looked through the doorway at the guests in the living room. They all seemed confused and wanted to know what was going on.

"I pushed him away. It's not like I kissed him back or liked it or even have any kind of feelings in that direction. I feel horrible and I don't know what to do. I just didn't want to tell you today..."

Zac put his hand onto her mouth. "Hey, shhh." He sighed. "It's ok. Don't worry about it. Bianca grabbed my ass once."

Carter laughed. "Ok ew."

"Alright let's just go back out there like nothing happened."

She nodded. "Ok, works for me. I just have to shove all the dishes into the dishwasher. I'll be right out."

Zac nodded and left and Carter began dumping plates into the dishwasher. She barely got three in before she heard a loud scream followed by a crash. She dropped a plate on the floor and ran into the living room to see Jesse lying on the floor with his legs up over the arm of the chair.

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

Taylor jumped up and ran over to Carter. He stood next to her and whispered into her ear while Zac smiled and sat back down on the floor as if nothing happened. "Wanna fill us in as to why Zac just punched Jesse in the face?"

"Not really." Carter sighed and then turned on her heel to face Nique. She was still sitting on the floor smiling. "DEATH!" Carter screamed before charging after Nique. She grabbed her by her shoulders and slammed her down onto the floor. "You have two choices... You can either leave now. Or have me slowly remove your head from your body."

Nique's eyes widened and she shoved Carter off of her. She straightened her princess costume, shook her head, and left the house. Jesse got up and followed her.

"Wow, I'm really glad I came back." Gabi took a deep breath.

Carter sat next to Zac and put her arm around him. "Why's that?"

"Cause that's like, the first time an all out brawl has broken out in your house and it wasn't because of me."
