Chapter 133

"You're wearing my pants." Taylor observed as Carter stretched out on the floor in front of him. He, Carter, and Zac were sitting in the living room, doing absolutely nothing. Zac was hanging upside down from an armchair and Taylor was sitting on the couch, indian style.

"So, you're wearing my bra." Carter mumbled and stared at the ceiling.

Taylor looked down. "What?"

"Made you look." She laughed.

"What are you doing, Car?" Zac asked, looking at the girl who appeared to be laying on the ceiling. He felt the blood rushing to his head. "Whoa."

"I'm counting."

"Huh?" Taylor blinked.

"Don't ask. She's always counting."

Taylor jumped up from the couch and shouted, "I KNOW! ZAC! LET ME DYE YOUR HAIR BLUE!"

Zac practically ignored Taylor and watched the huge grin appear on Carter's face. "Uhm. Maybe later."

"Oh come on! Carter has that huge collection of hairdye that she never uses. I'm bored! PLEASE?!"

Carter looked over at Zac and shrugged. "I'll supervise."

Zac sighed, knowing there was no way out. By the end of the day, his hair would be blue. "Fine."

Taylor jumped up and down once and turned to Carter, who remained on the floor. "Ok how do we do it?"

"In my room there's a box of rubber gloves in the closet next to the hairdye shelf. Put them on or your hands will be blue for a year."

"Ooh, gloves. Fun." Zac grinned as he pulled himself up off the chair. "Whoa, blood rushing back quickly. Tiny black dots floating everywhere..."

"You don't get to wear them."

"Oh come on!"

"Fine. Whatever." Carter laughed. "Basically just glop the hairdye on and rub it in really well. Lather it. And put it on dry hair. Then when you're done, come down and let me make sure you did it right."

"What ever happened to supervising?" Zac asked, looking worried.

"I'll be listening." She smiled. "Actually I just don't wanna get up."

"Right." Zac and Taylor started up the stairs and Carter listened to their conversation. "So, when we're done, how about you go purple."

"Yeah, Zac, people already think I'm gay. I don't think dyeing my hair purple is a great idea."

Carter laughed and rolled her eyes, continuing to count the dots on the ceiling. She began listening to them as they started the hair dying process.

"I just got blue on Isaac..." Taylor shouted down. "He looks pissed."

"Oh well." Carter yelled back up.

"Hey, before I do anymore, should Zac's ears and forehead be blue?"

"No! Dumbass! Use vaseline."

She could hear Taylor thinking about it. "Yeah, I don't like to use vaseline while participating in events with men."

"Riiiight." She waited and enjoyed the silence for a moment until Zac screamed.

"OUCH! FUCKER! HAIR... attached to nerve endings in scalp. Stop pulling!"

"Wow, potty mouth." Carter laughed. "I've officially corrupted him. Sweet."

Twenty minutes passed and Carter almost fell asleep. Finally, Taylor came to the top of the stairs and shouted down. "Ok, we're done. But there's blue all over the bathroom and I don't think it's a good idea to bring it downstairs, too. Now what?"

"Ok, get out the blow dryer and just use it to heat his hair for about ten minutes. And don't burn him."

"Why do I get the feeling you've done this before?" Taylor muttered and went back to the bathroom.

A couple minutes of peace went by until Zac screamed. "OUCH! THAT'S TWICE NOW! I'M COUNTING!"

Carter chuckled and wondered if she should go upstairs to make sure everything was ok. She pictured the walls and toilet of the bathroom being a lovely shade of royal blue. "Oh well." She sighed and went back to counting. She almost made it to 200 when Taylor came to the top of the stairs again.

"Ok I burned him three times so he says that's ten minutes. Can we rinse now?"

Carter looked at her watch. "Yeah. Just rinse it out in the tub."

"Okie dokie."

Carter listened to the running water for five minutes until she heard Taylor's voice again. "How do we know when it's done?"

"When the water runs clear."

"Dammit. Zac, get back in the tub."

Carter blinked and sat up. "Guys," She shouted upstairs, "You don't have to be IN the bathtub."

"Right. We knew that." She heard a scuffle. "We weren't in the tub."

"Ok." She rolled her eyes and in the next second she heard a thump, followed by a splash, and the sound of feet sliding around in the bathtub. "What the HELL are you guys doing?" She shouted at the ceiling.

"Nothing!" Taylor yelled.

"I have blue hair." Zac commented and she heard another splash.

Carter laughed, almost wishing she was upstairs watching.

"Dammit, Zac, you have too much hair. I can't get it all out."

"Heh, that's what Carter said..."

Carter's glance shot up to the ceiling again. "I heard that!"

Ten more minutes passed and Carter looked down at her watch. "Aren't you guys done yet?"

"Yeah, are you done counting?" Zac's voice came from directly behind her and she jumped up.

"316 today." She paused. "Whoa... you look hot."

"Really?" Zac smiled.

"Yeah. Your hair was so meant to be blue."

He nodded. "Yeah, and if mom asks... so was the bathtub. K?"

"K."

"So what color are we gonna do your hair now?"

Carter bit her lip. "Yeah, maybe tomorrow."

"Right."
