Chapter 25

Carter knocked on the door to the Hanson's house and leaned her head to her shoulder, letting her neck crack.

"Hey." Isaac rubbed his eyes and and stared wide eyed at her. She was wearing a pair of black cargo pants and the top to her black string bikini. "Whoa. Wanna get married?"

"No. Where's Zac. He always answers the door."

"But it's early he's prolly asleep. Can we just have sex?"

"No. It's not early. It's three in the afternoon. Where's Zac. I wanna go swimming."

"Wanna skinny dip with me?"

"No. Lemme in. You're blocking the door."

Isaac put one hand on the curve of her hip and another one on the doorway. "Why do you wanna hang out with a 14 year old when you could have sex in my car with me."

Carter flinched and pushed his hand off of her. "Ew. Please Ike. You're car is an old worn out green thing and at least Zac has some maturity to him."

Isaac grinned and put his arms around her waist, pulling her close. "Oh come on. You don't find me attractive?"

"Sure. In that... post adolescent... icky monkey way. Get off of me Ike. Damn what have you been drinking?"

"I dunno." He smiled. "This is nice. Have you worn this before?" He asked, running his finger down the strap of her bikini until it almost touched her breast.

Carter smacked his arm and shoved him down onto the couch in the living room. "Ok fucker. Getting a little too close to the boobie region. I suggest you stay the hell away from me for a while."

"Why?" He asked, frowning for the first time that day.

"Cause you're drunk and you piss me off."

"I'm not drunk! I haven't had a drink in a month."

Carter rolled her eyes and began to walk away. "All the more reason to find you an utterly annoying, oogly, and disgusting loser.

Isaac jumped off of the couch and threw himself against her back, knocking her down and pinning her to the ground.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"

Isaac grabbed her wrists and held them behind her.

"This is NOT even funny. LET ME UP!"

Isaac laughed. "HA! You think you can just leave me out of your life with no regrets or second thoughts."

"GET OFF OF ME!" She screamed.

Isaac tightened his grip around her wrists. "I SAID SHUT UP! I'm sick of you leaving me out of everything. Like I WANT to be left alone in my room with Trey and Tristan all day long. You know I had to watch him fuck her yesterday?! DO YOU THINK THAT WAS FUN?!"

Carter wimpered as he sat down on her back. "Yes?"

"NO! Now listen to me! I've always wanted to be your friend like Zac! Then all of a sudden I saw you kissing Tay. How the hell do you think that made me feel?! YOU GIVE EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD A CHANCE BUT ME!"

"Uhm, Ike..." She wimpered again as her ribs were pressed into the ground. "There's a good reason for that. Zac and Tay don't throw me on the ground and HURT ME!"

"What?" Isaac grinned, pulling her arm across her back. "This hurts?!"

Carter screamed. "GET OFF OF ME ISAAC!"

"Does this hurt too?" He asked, putting his knees into her back forcefully.

Carter screamed louder. "This isn't funny!"

Isaac groaned. "Aw fuck." When he heard Zac's footsteps pounding down the stairs.

"GET THE HELL OFF OF HER! CAN'T YOU SEE SHE'S CRYING?!" Zac shoved his older brother with as much force as he had in him. Isaac tumbled backwards and Carter crawled off the ground and pressed her face into his chest as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"What the hell were you doing, Ike? Afternoon wrestle with a chick?"

Isaac rubbed his elbow where he hit the ground. "What makes you think you can boss me around. I'm the oldest!"

"THEN ACT LIKE IT, DICKHEAD!" Zac lifted Carter's head up and brushed his hand against her cheek. "Are you ok?"

"I'm fine." She winced as Zac put his hand on her side.

"You're stomach is all red."

"It hurts." She shook her head. "But I'm ok."

Zac took her hands and pulled her up to him. "You need help Ike. There's something seriously wrong with your head. You DON'T hit a girl."

"I never hit her. I never hit you Carter." He looked like he was about to cry as he stared into her bright blue eyes.

Carter squinted her eyes. "You never hit me. But I wish you would have. It wouldn't have hurt as much."

Zac put his arm around her waist and leg her upstairs. When he got there, he slammed the door behind him and wrapped his arms around her. "Holy fuck I can't believe he did that. I'm so sorry. I didn't hear you till you screamed. I would have punched him. I swear. I'm sorry."

Carter pushed her hair out of her eyes and put her head on his shoulder. "I'm ok. He's just.. being weird." She thought to herself all the times she had ignored Isaac. When she went to his door to just give him a message from Zac and then went on her way as if he was nothing to her. She thought she remembered one time when they were younger, when Isaac put his arm on her shoulder and she said "ew" and pushed him away. She vaguely remembered the hurt in his eyes. "Or maybe it's me. I dunno."

"What do you mean?" Zac asked, sitting down next to her on the bed. He lightly touched the large bruise forming across her stomach.

"I do ignore him. He was just trying to get attention from me."

Taylor walked into Zac's bedroom with his hand on his head. "Why were you screaming, Carter? WHOA! Dude... do you know you're whole front is like..."

"Oh I hadn't noticed. Thanks Tay." Carter groaned and layed backwards, covering her face with a pillow.

"No prob. But why were you screaming?"

"Ike beat her up."

"What?"

"He did not!" Carter mumbled from under the pillow.

"He tried to do her."

Carter laughed. "NO HE DIDN'T!"

Taylor gave them both confused stares. "So he beat you up and tried to do you?"

"No. He.. mmmmphlammmph."

"Huh? Take the damn pillow off of your face."

Carter sat up and shrugged. "He didn't...."

"But he beat you up."

"He tried to hurt me."

Taylor threw his hands up in the air. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!?! I'LL KICK HIS ASS!!" Taylor turned around and started to go downstairs.

Carter ran after him and grabbed his arm. "NO TAY! PLEASE DON'T! I wanna talk to him first! Please!"

Taylor looked at Zac for his approval. "Ok. But we're up here when you need us."

"Ok." Carter took a deep breath and walked down the stairs to where Isaac was sitting on the floor in the middle of the dining room. "Hey."

Isaac looked up at her. "Hey."

"Why did you do it?"

He shrugged.

Carter sat down next to him. "Why?"

"I said I don't know."

"That's not a very good reason."

"I know it's not. Just leave me alone."

"I don't think so. I wanna know why."

"Because you've NEVER given me a chance."

"And if I did... would you pin me to the ground and give me THIS!?" She asked, motioning towards the huge bruise on her stomach.

"Whoa. I did that?" Isaac put his hand on the bruise.

"Ow. Fucker. That hurts."

"What if I cracked a rib?" He asked, looking sympathetic and deeply concerned.

"Oh gee. Little too late to be thinking about that. Wouldn't you say?"

"I'm sorry. I really am. I just..."

"I know what you wanted. Attention."

"Yeah. If I could take it back I would. I've never done anything like that before."

"I know. Just forget about it. I will. It's no big deal."

"I really am sorry."

"Don't worry about it." She smiled and patted his shoulder before standing up and heading for the stairs. Isaac jumped up and grabbed her arm. He pressed his lips against hers passionately and wrapped his arms around her waist. Carter leaned backwards onto the stairs and ran his hands through his hair as his hand rubbed her sore stomach, lightly. Isaac moved his head down and lightly kissed her neck. Chills ran down her back like she'd never felt before. It was exciting. She knew she shouldn't be doing this. But it felt really good. Why?

Carter pulled away. "I can't do this. I really can't." She gasped, out of breath. She knew exactly what she wanted at the moment.

Isaac sighed. "I know. I'm sorry."

"No. Don't be. I'm not I just mean, I can't do this here. But I really want to. Zac and Taylor are upstairs." She smiled. "You're right. I need somebody older than me. Just once. So that I can see what it's like. Then I can go from there. And see what I really want."

"So I'd just be... an experiment?"

"Kind of."

"I can go for that. Uhm. Wanna go to my room?"

Carter laughed. "No. Not right now. Maybe... if you came to my room tonight. Maybe. But be really quiet. Ok? I'll think about it."

Isaac smiled and nodded. "Ok."
