Chapter 74

Please keep in mind that Angelfire decided to rearrange and do some cool new stuff, and I get confused with new stuff. I'm surprised I figured out how to do this.

Dear Taylor,

I know we haven't written in a while, and this kinda spur of the moment, but my mom and I are flying back to Tulsa for a day to pick up some stuff we left at the old house. We're going to be arriving at the airport at 7 tomorrow night and leaving the next morning. I was hoping you could meet me there and bring Carter and your brothers or anybody you want. I'll wait there for an hour, in case you want to meet me. I hope you get this in time.

Beth

Taylor jumped up from his computer, leaving it connected to the internet and ran downstairs as fast as he could. He grabbed his car keys and slammed out the front door to find Carter standing in front of Justine and Zac. She looked like she was about to confront them about the sister thing, but Taylor figured that could wait, especially if it has waited this long. "HEY!" He yelled causing Justine to jump about 4 feet. He laughed. "Hi. Ok, we have to go, now. Cause it's like, 7:08, and Beth won't be at the airport for a whole lot longer, so we have to go now, like I said. Who's with me?"

Carter shrugged. "I'll just assume you know what you're talking about, and I'll come." She smiled. "You can explain on the way."

"I'll come too, if Justine does."

Justine shrugged. "Sure why not, don't know who the heck Beth is, but why not?"

After 20 minutes of Taylor explaining to Zac and Justine who Beth was, and why she was meeting them at the airport, they arrived. Taylor was standing in the middle of the airport lounge, holding Carter's hand tightly. Justine and Zac were in a corner of the airport, talking.

"You're squeezing my hand, I think it's going to pop."

Taylor stopped squeezing so hard and apologized. "I'm sorry, I'm just really nervous to see her."

"I'm sure you are." Carter couldn't help but wonder if Taylor would ever be this excited about seeing her. But then again, she saw him everyday, so who knew.

"Hi, Taylor."

Taylor spun around to see Beth, standing behind him. Carter stumbled to the side since he never let go of her hand and smiled. "Hi Beth."

"Hi." Beth was wearing a pair of plain jean flares and a tight white t-shirt. Her hair was down, straightened, and hanging over her shoulders.

Taylor let go of Carter for a second and leaned over to hug Beth.

"I wasn't sure you'd get my e-mail. Our flight got here at 6:00 instead of 7:00"

"So you were waiting an hour and a half?" Carter asked, grabbing hold of Taylor's hand again.

"Yeah."

Taylor smiled. "Well, Zac and his new girlfriend are here." He pointed to the corner of the lobby. "That's them over there." He shook his head. "So did you want to come with us and go out to dinner?"

"Sure. I just have to tell my mom. Can you drop me off at my old house later? We have to finalize some stuff about the new people moving in there."

"Yeah." Taylor walked as Beth left the airport for a minute to go to the parking lot. Carter used the time to ask him a very important question.

"If you weren't with me, you'd want her... wouldn't you?" She asked, very bluntly.

Taylor was caught off guard. "What?"

"Think about it. We started sorta hooking up while you were in the hospital. Right when you met Beth. So, if you by chance would have met her, before we started hooking up..."

Taylor covered her mouth with his hand. "Ok shut up right there. Ok? I wanted to keep this a surprise, but I guess I can tell you. When you spent all that time in the hospital with me, you missed your birthday."

"Yeah. I never really thought about it. It wasn't important then."

"Well I got you a present yesterday."

Carter smiled. "A present? But you already got me Holly's signature and a bracelet."

"Yeah that was a just because present. For taking care of me." Taylor kissed Carter's lips lightly and smiled. "I'll give it to you when we get home ok?"

Beth stood in the doorway of the lobby, watching them, seeing how in love Taylor really was, and in that moment, she knew they would never be more than friends. Her dreams were shattered, but at the same time, she was ready to move on with her new life in Pennsylvania.

Zac put his hands on Justine's hips and smiled. "Ok now what was it Carter said you needed to tell me."

Justine blushed. "I guess I should tell you. Otherwise you'll hate me. Then again you might hate me anyway."

Zac looked at her seriously.

"Ok, you know how you don't know my last name?"

"Yeah."

Justine laughed. "That was funny. Ok, well, you know Gabi Tarren?"

"Yeah."

"Well that's my last name."

"Your last name is Gabi Tarren?"

Justine laughed. "No. It's Tarren. As in, Justine Tarren. As in... Gabi's younger sister."

Zac took a deep breath. "So?"

"So... you're not mad that I didn't tell you?"

"No. What makes you think I would be mad? I don't judge people by stuff like that. Even if Gabi is a crackwhore. I've known you for a couple weeks now, which isn't all that much, but I know you're not like that."

Justine smiled.

Zac put his arms around her waist and hugged her. "Don't be afraid to tell me things like that ok?"

"Ok."

Zac touched Justine's lips and smiled. "You're really pretty... and sweet... and I really like you."

Justine blushed. "Same with you..."

"I'm pretty?"

"Yeah. I mean, no." She laughed. "You're hot. Very very hot."

"Nah, everybody says Taylor is the hot one."

Justine shook her head. "They're out of their minds."

Zac kissed the lips that his fingers were touching a second earlier and then whispered in her ear. "And everybody who thinks Gabi is hot is out of their mind too. You're the hot one."

Justine shivered when she felt his warm breath on her neck, then she hugged him. She knew it was the start of a relationship that would last a long time.
