About WRSD
WRSD is the non-commercial educational FM radio station of the Ridley
School District. The station was established in 1984. WRSD operates on a
frequency of 94.9 MHz as assigned by the Federal Communications Commission.
The radio operates in conjunction with Ridley's own cable television
channel. The station airs events held by the Ridley School District,
simulcast with the cable channel, as a service to our community.
Purpose Of WRSD
The goal of WRSD is to provide students the opportunity to become acquainted
with the world of broadcasting and provide an informational service to the
Ridley School District community. Students are exposed to many areas of the
industry which include on air preformance, sports play by play commentary
and management
Through their own initiative, students may expand
their interest to other areas such as copywriting and program development.
