Welcome to my Angel Dreams

This page is still under construction so please be patient.

My name is Ginger Crudele, and that's my husband, Tony.

I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent most of my childhood following my father around like a tail. He was always fixing or building something. When I think back now, I must have given my poor mother many a heart attack. She never knew what I would be getting into from one minute to the next. When I wasn't down the basement sawing wood or hammering nails I was designing clothes to sew for my dolls or furniture to build. All that cutting and sawing, designing and sewing stuck with me all my life and I am grateful.

I never thought that anything would come from my doodles and woodworking, but when my niece came along I was asked to paint some critters on the nursery walls. At her Christening, my sister made me feel great every time she insisted on showing the room to someone.

When my cousin saw it, he convinced me that I should try to do something with my "GIFT" as he called it. He told about a friend who worked for a Philadelphia store painting murals and designs on furniture. He said that if his friend could do it, so could I.

It just so happened that he (the artist) had just moved to California and there was an opening at the store. It took some time and convincing because I had a hard time believing that I could be good enough to do anything like that. But my cousin persisted and insisted that I call the store so I decided to give it a try. I made an appointment to show my portfolio to the owner.

Portfolio!!!!???? What portfolio????

All I had was some doodles and a picture of my niece's room. A few days later, after frantic sketching, and hunting for more pictures, I ended up getting an order for a wood product. I went there to try to get a job doing murals and furniture painting but somehow ended up talking about woodworking. Now, when I look back at that time, I think I must have had Angels looking over my shoulder.

From that day on, I kept getting more and more calls for my work. I worked for those wonderful people many years, and I would still be working for them if I hadn't moved to the Pocono Mountains of North East Pennsylvania. I've found the 2 1/2 hour trip back to Philly and New Jersey just too much.

I hung up my saws and brushes for a while, and only made things for family presents now and then. Now, and for the past few months I have been having wonderful dreams about Angels... Angels... and more Angels. Every morning I would wake up to these dreams. In them I would actually see a hand drawing picture after picture of these Angels.

Since it was near Christmas time, I decided to pay more attention to these dreams and try to make some of my dreams come true. I just had to start making them.

After the 3rd one, it came to me that I had to make one for every letter of the alphabet. Only after I complete one do I name her. I keep a growing list of names and read through it after each Angel is completed to find just the right name. Some think I am being silly when I tell them that the angels must be picking their own names because I really don't like some of them but find that no other name seems to fit.

To date I have 27 finished. I even ended up with a Gingham dog and a Calico cat. It seems I have no choice, my Angels come out how they want.
