REMEMBER WHEN PLATFORM SHOES AND DISCO DUCK RULED RIGHT ALONG WITH JOE WALSH AND THE EAGLES? IT WAS A CAREFREE, HAPPY TIME FOR MOST OF US WHO VISITED OUR 20'S DURING THIS DECADE. THE MUSIC WAS--AND STILL IS--THE BEST EVER RECORDED. DANCING WAS THE MOST POPULAR FORM OF FITNESS TRAINING... NOTHING SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. AND A BAD DAY NEVER LASTED MORE THAN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. YELLOW SMILEY FACES WERE THE SIGN OF THE TIMES.

The new featured song is "Crazy on You", 1976, by HEART. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson ruled the charts when FM radio was king. With Greatest Hits, Heart finds a welcome overview of their 1975 to 1983 material, beginning with the album Dreamboat Annie. (Recorded in Canada because band members had problems arising from the Vietnam draft.) The original Heart was created by Steve Fossen and Roger Fisher in the mid-60s. They called the band The Army, and eventually traded that name for White Heart, and, deciding White Heart was too "nice," to simply "Heart." They played around Seattle toning their skills and experience. Eventually, Ann Wilson convinced her sister Nancy to join the band, and in 1975, this lineup entered the studio to record their first album, Dreamboat Annie. In the studio, the band's producer, Mike Flicker, introduced them to a guitar player he had played drums with in a band called the Zoo, named Howard Leese. The core of Heart was formed.
