Saw the Levellers, Eat Static (superb), Prodigy, Kula Shaker, Terrorvision, Reef, Beth Orton, Ani Difranco, John Otway, Bootleg Beatles, Republica. Missed just about all the bands I really wanted to see due to the mud and the dodgy pizza I ate on Saturday (or was that the ecoli mud again?). Was sick and spent most of Saturday and Sunday daytimes ill in my tent. Got up at about 10pm each night though and stayed up all night instead (not a good idea if you want to see lots of bands, but fun anyway). I will concentrate more on the music at Phoenix.
Got interviewed for a cable TV channel on Saturday because we were carrying our giant Y-front flag around (just about visable during the Terrorvision TV coverage on the BBC, though not as clear as on the Phoenix coverage of last year). Didn't get as many TV interviews as usual due to sleeping all day when the camera crews were out and about. It was the worst possible time to get interviewed as I had just been sick and my head was still spinning so I let my mate Zeb do the main part of the interview and he acted like an excited schoolboy while I stood there trying to look like my eyes could still focus.
Spent most of my weekend trying to nursemaid my feet as I was walking around in foot deep wet mud all day Wednesday and Thursday which made them really sore. Taped them up with gaffa tape (every bikers fave accessory!) and toilet paper for padding.
Bought the obligatory stripey jumper and woolly socks on Thursday (wouldn't be a complete festival otherwise)
Spent all Saturday night talking to three girls who were speeding their tits off so I was having to hold three conversations at once (for 5 hours!) We were still stood at the other stage where we had watched Kula Shaker the night before when the sun came up. All three were still dancing too! The conversations were great, and they were cute too. Wanted to take one home but there was no room in the car.
There may have been more room in the car if we hadn't scavenged 6 extra tents, 5 sleeping bags, 7 blankets, pillows, cushions, army boots, trainers, camping stoves, etc. etc. (and before you accuse me of stealing or ruining someone's Glastonbury I am talking about politely asking people who were leaving on the Monday morning if they were leaving their tents behind as mine had been destroyed. The blankets and sleeping bags were rescued from rubbish piles on Monday afternoon when we were the only 2 people left in the field as I believe in recycling - I hope I don't get any more hate mail now I've added this expanation (-: ). All well, may as well come back from Glastonbury financially better off then when we arrived. Some of the tents are pretty damn good, all are better than my tent ended up after all 4 corners had been ripped out by people tripping over the guy ropes, and someone had fell on top of it (caused by tripping of a different kind). Ah well, its nice to lie in a tent and look at the stars.
