PRAISE THE LORD WITH US!!!.
Joe had surgery on his "bad" leg on Friday, February 21st (due to elephantitis). After being given a 50/50 chance of making it through, he did come through just fine!
The plan was for Joe to be placed in a "progressive care" room following his surgery. However, Joe is doing so well, he was placed back in his old room! It is not yet known when he will be able to return home, but all is looking well!
A second surgery is needed on a different section of the leg. The surgeon had planned to wait until next year. However, upon observing how well Joe's recovery is going, he now plans to have Joe return to the hospital in about 8 months and perform the next one. At that time, he will only have to be in the hospital one week prior to the operation. He has now been in the hospital this time since September 8th! He is quite ready to go home!
