Many Roads Out - RPG Links
- Atlas Games The home of great RPGs like Over The Edge and Unknown Armies. The company that change the way I looked at games.
- Cheapass Games The company which brought such indie games like "Killing Doctor Lucky" and "Hong Kong Spree" to the world. Not RPG just plain old games with a healthy dose of humor.
- Gaming Outpost
Still around after a couple of server mishaps or what have you. Has become sort of hollow these days. But I hope that they'll get it going again. I really miss the old days!
- Grey Ghost Games The company that offers the free RPG Fudge. This game is a veritable game design toolbox. Another thing which has contribute to my current attitude on games.
- Heritage Central The home of Bulletshower's diceless RPG system , Heritage. Though not perfect, there are some lapses in editing, it espouses the diceless aesthetic with clear devotion to storytelling and not tons of charts.
- Imazine A great freeware magazine by Paul Mason. Not your normal "this game rocks" reviews and really intense gaming design articles.
- Mana Bros Though not Indie per se, is a collection of gaming material for Call of Cthulhu among other things. Includes The Turin sourcebook, a clear labor of love with a great design.
- Gargoyle 13 Doc Fortune's Indie/Punk RPG site. Lots of interesting settings such as Pumpkin Town and Savage Kingdom. Prolific as all get out!
- Negative Zone The nerve center of Spike's Indie RPG Empire. Schism, Giganto-Corp...What can I say? I'm a fan. Also plenty of other indie/punk gaming links for your perusal.
- Revland The website of John Tynes, the co-creator of such tasty items like Delta Green and Unknown Armies. The focus here is on his stories and other gaming material. Includes Puppetland and Powerkill, two especially demented games.
- Risus Was my system of choice for Madcap. So I guess you could say I'm biased.
- Rough Magic Brandon Blackmoor's Risus game. Great design, good intergration with Risus, and a lot of fun to read. Takes place in an alternate 1960's Europe and involves a variety of occult elements. Casablanca + Angel Heart = Rough Magic? Simply fantastic. I don't think I could ever approach this level but it is goal to shoot for.
- Serendipity's Circle Julie Hoverson's Weird RPG magazine. Though her site is infrequently updated, it still has lots of ideas and adventures which can be ported into almost any "dark fantasy"game. Has been pretty quiet for awhile. But keep an eye out. Who knows when it'll rise again!
- Sorcerer The premier game of Indie RPG guru Ron Edwards. Here, you can pick the apprentice version of his game, as well as order the master edition of this game which centers around occult quests for power and the deals one has to make to gain that power.
