Deja Vu

Deja Vu

Deja Vu

Chico and Deja Vu were bred by Colman Cogswell from German imports Zorro von Eschenhof and Amanda von Eschenhof. Vom Bahnhof's first litter was the brother-sister breeding of Chico to Déjà Vu v. Wilminghof which produced Avasara vom Bahnhof, SchH2, STT (UDC) and Avatar vom Bahnhof, SchH2. Both these dogs have left a great mark in the US through their offspring. At the time of this article Avatar was over 9 years old. And unfortunately, Ava died from complications after an elective veterinary procedure two weeks short of her fourth birthday and only five months after the birth of her first and only litter (the "C" litter discussed on the main page). The "C" litter is out of Avasara v. Bahnhof, SchH 2, STT (UDC) and Bismark von Donautal, SchH 3, IPO 3.

The "D" litter (Avatar x Chantilly) has 12 dogs in it. Five were exported to Germany to Nymphenburg enthusiasts. Delta is a SAR and Cadaver dog in Nebraska. Déjà Vu is a second foundation bitch (Cheetah is their first) for von Bach. She recently produced von Bach's "B" litter out of Boris v. Rosenhof, SchH1 (Avatar son).

The litter shows very high drive and trainability. Dallas was born with a broken back (the vets think due to the huge litter size and limited space for the many puppies) and overcame her "handicap" to work as a guard dog for a marina in SW Florida. Danika has been trained in narcotics work.

Our goal is high drive, trainable dogs. We only have one litter every several years. Quality, not quantity is the motto. We have owned Dobermans since 1987. We have trained them in obedience since 1990, SchH since 1992. We have bred since 1991 when Ava and Avatar were born. The "C" litter was born in 1995. The "D" litter was born in 1997.

We practice intense line and inbreeding as is recommended by Dr. George Padgett, DVM, MS, Professor of Pathology at Michigan State University, and Guy Ormiston, author of New Guide to Breeding Old Fashioned Working Dogs.

Avatar was bred only 8 times:

Treue Rosen v. Eichenhof, BH, CDX, ATT (Rosenhof's A litter)

Fancy v. Mutter Haus (Bahnhof's B litter)

Catara v. Kaiserhaus (Bahnhof's F litter)

Benga v. Dizen, SchH 3, FH, (Wustensturm's A litter)

Cyra v. Kaiserhaus, BH (Kaiserhaus' F litter)

Asia v. Rosenhof (Rosenhof's B litter)

Colman’s Chantilly v. Bahnhof, SchH 3 (Bahnhof's D litter).

Rogers Neutonic Krimson (A litter)

Atlas v. Rosenhof, SchH2 (Avatar son).
