We are located in Manor Township,
Lancaster County, PA
The Highville Fire Company serves the southern part of Manor Twp. We also provide fire protection for the rest of Manor Twp. through mutual aid with the other two fire companies in the township. Our running area is about 10 square miles and we also cover the Susquehanna River. Our calls include dwelling fires, vehicle accidents, river rescues, etc. Our company runs about 100 calls a year, including giving mutual aid to surrounding fire companies.
The Highville Fire Company has approximately 15 active firefighters and 30 social members. We currently house four pieces of fire apparatus; 1981 Pierce Mini Pumper, 1991 Pierce Dash Engine, 2000 Freightliner Tank Truck and a 1997 Ford Squad Truck.
Here is a brief history of the Highville Fire Co.:
The Fire Co. was first formed on October 26, 1942 and the original name was the Manor Indiantown Fire Company.
November 30, 1942 - The first fire engine was purchased. It was a Model A Ford.
February 15, 1950 - A 1935 Dodge Pumper was bought.
February 27, 1950 - The organization became known as the Highville Fire Company.
September 8, 1956 - Ground breaking was held to build a fire station to house the two fire engines.
January 21, 1961 - A Ford Pumper from Howe Fire Equipment was delivered.
December 19, 1972 - A Ford Tank Truck from Howe Fire Equipment was delivered.
November 14, 1981 - A Chevrolet Four Wheel Drive Mini Pumper from Pierce Fire Equipment was delivered.
January 30, 1991 - A Pierce Dash Fire Engine was delivered from Pierce Fire Equipment.
January 31, 1995 - Fire trucks and equipment were moved into our 4 Bay Fire Station.
December 20, 1999
- A Freightliner
FL112 Tanker was delivered from New Lexington Fire Eqiupment
January 2006
- A Pierce Contender Pumper was purchased from Glick Fire Apparatus
