A TRIBUTE TO THE ANTHRACITE MINER

At the intersection of Routes 209 and 901, about a mile east of Minersville, PA, stands a solitary figure, lamp in hand, overlooking what was once the historic Sunbury Trail.

This tribute is not only to the miner who toiled deep within the bowels of the earth to provide fuel for the Industrial Revolution, but also to those whose pride in the Anthracite Region is shown by projects such as this.
