Protomartyr of the Bolshevik Revolution

A priest in Chicago, Fr. John returned to Russia for its All-Russia council, which elected St. Tikhon patriarch. At the same time, revolution swept the country. While in Russia, St. John attempted to calm a mob of revolutionary sailors. They killed him brutally.
