Welcome to the Pennsylvania Burns Family PETER BOHRN (Burn) arrived in Philia. 13 Aug. 1750 on Ship Edinburgh from Rotterdam, but last from Porthmouth in England. He donated the land and helped construct one of the first public schools outside of a borough. He carried the nails and glass for the building on his back from Hsbg. Peter served in the war of 1812. JAMES K. b. 4 Dec. 1843, d. 4 Aug. 1913. He was born in Augusta Twnship, at age of 12 moved to Union Twnship in Snyder Co. and farmed there. Later he operated a store known as the Log Grocery along the canal on Isle of Que. On 30 May 1896 he purchased property between S. 3rd St. and Penn. On 12 Mar. 1914 he married EDNA IRENE HAWK of Williamstown (b. 12 Mar. 1893, d. 30 May 1953) by the Rev. Walter K. Hauser in Selinsgrove. Hob was a merchant in Selinsgrove, first as owner of family grocery store on Isle of Que, after that in the candy and real estate business and then as owner of Burns Furniture Store.
