Cornish Pasties 1 to 1-1/4 lb ground beef 1 rutabaga-peeled and cooked 1 turnip " 2 potatoes " 1 cup carrots " 1 parsnip " 2-3 onions 2 double pie crusts butter milk salt and pepper Preheat oven to 425. Finely chop all of the vegetables and combine with the browned beef. Add salt and pepper to mixture and stir. Spread the pie crusts out and cut each in half. Spoon a portion of the beef and vegetable mixture on one side of each crust half. Put 2-3 small dollops of butter on the mixture then fold over the other half of the crust. Pinch the sides of the crust together to seal. Brush milk on top of each pasty before baking them. Place pasties on greased baking sheet in oven for 10 minutes at 425. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
