It is the question that has plagued people for decades now. The answer is simple. It's our last name. It is also the single most mispronounced word in the entire universe. It's true, NASA did a study on it, we swear. Louis Mele Sr. founded Mele's Pet Shop in 1960. He never thought twice about using the family name. He felt it relayed a sense of comfort and unity that can only be found when you are around family. He didn't foresee the mass confusion it would cause as customers struggled to say it correctly!
