ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Southern California, a true "valley girl" I suppose. I enjoy living out here and especially love the fact that I'm able to live so close to family and friends.

Drawing is a hobby I picked up on my own. In the past I've worked with color, but now I stick to graphite pencil art, using shading to try and bring the portraits to life. I received a great deal of inspiration from my high school art teacher, Robert Saxon. Mr. Saxon encouraged me to continue with my portraits and for that I want to acknowledge my appreciation.

I currently work full-time as an administrative assistant to the Student Ministries department at my church, a job I truly enjoy. The one thing that keeps me going in life is my strong faith in God. I became a Christian in 1995 and I am now very involved in my church. God has blessed me by putting many wonderful people in my path since then....most importantly, my husband, Robert. We are newly married, though dated for five years prior. He holds a pastoring position at our church. It's been wonderful to work side by side doing the Lord's work. I know God has brought us together for a very special reason. I thank my parents from the bottom of my heart for bringing me to church...it's been the greatest experience of my life in SO many ways.

I have a great passion for working my full-time job. But aside from that I am truly greatful for the time God allows me to spend working on my portraits. What the future holds for me, I am uncertain. Right now I simply plan to enjoy each day as it comes...and trust God to show me the way.

What does the @ logo mean?

Back when I started Portraits By Alicia my initials were AC. I used this symbol to sign all my work because it simply looks like the letter "a" inside the letter "C". I used it once, and it stuck. I've since gotten married, and now my initials are AN. Not wanting to give up my signature, I decided to keep it!!
