Here is a baby size ripple afghan pattern that uses 3 colors, but it should still be easy. Finished size should be about 30"x46".
If you work by gauge it is: 14 sc=2-1/2"; 4 rows =1".
You'll need Knitting worsted weight yarn (3.5 oz. balls). 3 balls of peach (A); 3 balls green (B); 5 balls white(C). Crochet hook size F or size needed to obtain gauge.
Starting at narrow end with A, ch 167. ROW 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 4 ch, sk 1 ch, * sc in each of next 5 ch, 3 sc in next ch, sc in each of next 5 ch, sk 2 ch; rep from * , ending with sk 1 ch, sc in each of last 5 ch. Ch 1, turn. ROW 2: Sc in first 5 sc, sk 1 sc, * sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, sk 2 sc; rep from *, Ending with sk 1, sc in each of last 5sc. Ch 1, turn. Rep row 2 for ripple pattern, working in the following color secquence: * 4 rows C, 2 rows B, 4 rows C, 2 rows A; rep from *, ending with 2 rows B. Fasten off. EDGING: With right side facing you and A, Sc evenly along each side of edge.
>p> Let me know how you like this and if it was easy enough! I have more patterns when youre ready for them, and there are plenty on the web I could direct you to also. I got this out of an 1986 Family Circle magazine, it had lots of great stuff in it I tried, but I don't think I tried this one. You can alter the color pattern easy, just by changing the yarn color when you want. The stitch doesn't change. There are also ripple patterns using double crochet that are just as easy. Have Fun!
