Emperor, King, Adelie, Gentoo, Chinstrap, Rockhopper, Macaroni, Royal, Fiordland-crested, Erect-crested, Snares Island ,Yellow-eyed, Fairy, Mangellaic, Hanboldt, Black-footed, and Galapagos.



General information:

Most penguins spend up to 75% of their life in water. They build nests out of stone or scraps. They can swim up to 15mph. Penguins travel in large groups. There are 17 species of penguins. Penguins are camouflaged so large fish can not see them underwater and man cannot see them over water. Penguins usually hunt underwater. People think they are near sighted on land and far sighted underwater. All penguins have blubber to keep them warm. Penguins used to be killed for their feathers and meat.



Predators:

Killer whales, Leopard seals, Great Sukas, Sea lions, and Man.
